Watching your alma mater (Virginia Tech) cruise to a win over Wake Forest, knowing you have tomorrow off from work and enjoying a drink. Now that is relaxing.

Me and my dad watching our favorite football team every Saturday since September, culminating in their first national championship in 12 years.

We didn't get to go to any games this year, but sharing this season with him will always be special.

Re: The Pleasures of Life Thread

The early (first 10?) seasons of The Simpsons.

We've been watching my old DVDs the past month or so watching a disc or two a week. Growing up the local Fox station would typically play reruns back-to-back from 6PM to 7PM (Seinfeld and Friends for the 7 o'clock hour). As a kid a lot of the nuances and subtleties of the narratives flew over my head. Obviously the more apparent jokes are always going to kill, but the biggest thing I've noticed is how much heart and emotion the show started off with. Homer and Marge's relationship is legitimately endearing at times often resolving with emotional weight.

Last night we watched Simpson & Delilah - the episode where Homer commits insurance fraud to get his health insurance plan to pay for a miracle hair tonic that actually works. Homer is promoted to junior executive and is basically being groomed for the big time. Throughout the episode Homer is dealing with low-confidence and poor self-esteem. Even with his hair back he still has these underlying issues. It really made me take a step back and realize how ****ing amazing this show was.

I find it hilarious that ANYBODY had an issue with this show back in day. ****ing George Bush (I know he kind of "changed his mind" on the show with his amazing appearance, but still).

Reminds me of when me of watching Ghostbusters now a days.

When I was a kid, it was movie about ghost hunters.

Watching it now and it’s a hilarious comedy.

              Exactly.

Growing up Ghostbusters II was one of my favorite movies, but now not so much and the original has risen significantly in my eyes since then. Bill Murray was nearly flawless and the entire script was hilarious.

Simpsons early seasons are so good. The movie ruined things. I felt there was a decline after the movie. And past few years especially has been a big decline.

Episodes nowadays are hit or miss.

They were your favorite team since September?

There was a stretch of bad seasons before the movie. Honestly, I thought the movie was done really well and I was a little hesitant with my excitement before seeing it.

Seeing the 49ers make it back to the Super Bowl. I wasn't sure when they'd get back after Super Bowl XLVII.

Cleaning my desk and finding some old giftcards I got from Christmas.

Checked them, $0,$0,$0. Dont know why I have them.

Then I found an Amazon card with all of these. Turns out I never added it to my account. So now I got an extra $50 on my Amazon account!

                            Christmas in March.
