 Re: OS Firearms Thread

Just got the letter, there's limitations based on things like trigger pull (nothing less than 4-1/2 lbs), calibers approved (9mm, 10mm, 40 S&W, etc). It appears there are no manufacture limitations. So they pretty much want you to pick anything youre comfortable with and that meets those guidelines rather than having you choose something like a Glock 22 or a Sprinfield XD/XDM.Last edited by av7; 11-01-2013, 11:35 PM.Aaron

 Re: OS Firearms Thread

Yeah, I've got a Glock 19 as well and only use it for winter carry. It hides easily under a winter jacket, but I'd be hard pressed to conceal it during the spring/summer months. That's what I picked up an XDs .45 for. That thing just disappears underneath as little as a t-shirt.Might be regretting getting the Glock 19. While it is "versatile" I think it's too big still for concealed carry. I knew I was kinda iffy on getting an in-betweener.
 Might trade in for a Glock 17 or CZ P09 for a full-size 9mm and/or XDM 3.8 or M&P shield for concealed...not sure yet

On the same token however, the Glock 19 is the one firearm I own which I would absolutely never sell. It's our go to home defense firearm along with the occasional carry gun during the colder months, and it's an absolute blast to shoot at the pit.Comment

I will be purchasing a Sig Sauer 1911 in the next week or so. Not sure which one specifically, but leaning towards 1911 XO Black.

1911's are nice. If I had the money, I'd buy one as my duty firearm. Shoots very smoothe and extremely accurate... Good choice.

 Re: OS Firearms Thread

Put some rounds through my G23 this weekend. I love this thing, very smooth and minimal muzzle flip. I think the newer dual spring makes a difference as I've shot my cousins gen3 G23 and felt a bit of a difference, although it may have been mental too. As Padre said, great firearm.Battle.net: xXKING08Xx

 Re: OS Firearms Thread

Do you think the 17 is too big? Like you I would use mainly for home, and I like to shoot it on weekends. I just feel like if it's too big for concealed, might as well go with the longer barrel and higher capacity of the 17....Yeah, I've got a Glock 19 as well and only use it for winter carry. Re: OS Firearms Thread

The 17 is a massive sidearm, but if it's for home defense and trips to the range, it's a great gun to have. The 19 just fits my hand better, but in the winter, it would probably be just as easy to carry the 17 under a winter jacket.

I've gotten around to doing some research on what handgun I want. I think I am deciding between the Glock 23 or Glock 27.Comment

 Re: OS Firearms Thread

I have a soft spot in my heart for 1911's. I always want to dismiss them as a historic piece but honestly in the firearm Industry they really are a work of art requiring proper care to get the most out of them.
