And I see nothing wrong with what I said. If my kids are outside at the park and you come along and start smoking, yeah you can legally do it, doesn't make it right though.

"I'd be fine if it was banned everywhere". That I have a problem with. Sorry.

Because "everywhere" includes my house and my car. Just outlaw cigs outright, ala Prohibition, huh?

Now that's just silly. I've never heard of anyone "being high on cigarettes".

I'm not sure, but I know smoke from cigarettes kills people. I would imagine crack smoke could but...I don't really know.

I don't know, I don't really care if people smoke. Just don't do it around me and potentially cause me health problems in the future.

I would be fine with that. Banned mean not legal any longer and not made any more. I feel the same about alcohol. But I also don't care of people smoke, which I already said. Just have respect for those around you. Don't give me the "wind blows" cop out either. How about not smoking where children are close by because the wind may blew it in their face?

I remember when the smoking ban in bars and clubs happened in Boston. Almost 10 years later, people have no issues with it. I tossed out 3 leather jackets because that cigarette smell never comes out. Smoking in your house or car? I have no issues with that.
I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....

I never meant that it should be banned from smoking inside cars. I shake my head at people that do that though with the windows closed.

Why does it matter if their windows are closed? It makes really no difference except that the smell may linger around longer and soak into the seats and stuff more, but if they are a smoker then they probably don't mind the smell. I'm just not sure what difference it makes and why you "shake your head" at people who smoke with their windows up.

It makes a huge difference actually. Most of the smoke gets sucked out of the window if only one window is cracked. Plus the person can blow the smoke directly out.

I crack my windows open as well. But,after reading some of the comments here, if I were at a stoplight and someone was in another car next to me, with their windows open, and the smoke ended up in their car, they'd have a problem, especially if they had kids in the car.

I understand smokers are ostracized in today's society, but it's still a legal habit, last I checked.

I understand that, but I'm just saying, why does it matter if a smoker wants to smoke with the windows up? Obviously if they are smoking then they don't mind the smoke they don't mind breathing it in and having it in their car. Unless they have another person in the car with them who minds, I do not see a problem whatsoever.

Lingering cigarette smoke can be very irritating on the eyes. I never, ever smoked with the windows up.

Yep. That's exactly what we are saying. I also think if my kids go door to door selling stuff and you open the door and they can smell the smoke you should be arrested.

Not going to jump into the debate as I'm way behind, but to the topic: speaking as someone with chemically-induced asthma, I will go out of my way to avoid second-hand smoke.
