    2) If the student is complying, why would the teacher need to take any further action, or be trained for such? (I'm guessing you meant "not complying" haha)

    Grammatical errors on my part

The cop was just way to aggressive. Maybe the girl had to be removed from class for being disruptive. Ok i get that. But to flip her out the chair then drag her across the room was entirely too much and i have no sympathy for whatever is going to happen to him.

I dont know how true it is, but i read something that said the girl just lost her mom, recently transferred to that school, and was very quiet. She didnt talk or bother anyone.

Hey pick up the desk with her in it

        Suspend her

Ask the class to leave into another room and talk to her alone

..but to treat her like that, yes people are going to pile on the cop because she did NOTHING to warrant such a ridiculous response. I don't care if she didn't move.

Kids don't listen alot, they make bad decisions, but we don't go around slinging them around like frisbees

@fatleg not sure about the mom thing but her classmate did say she never talked to or bothered anyone.

Which is why police should just walk out with non compliance. She didn't commit a crime. Let the teacher deal with it.

The problem is cops are not there to talk to the kids. If a cop gets called it is supposed to be bad enough to warrant police action. Yes the cop should have walked out when she wasn't breaking a law, but I'm not sure if there are regulations for handling these calls.

The school is to blame for the situation to start with and the cops being called. The school is in the position to handle those mental or emotional issues. The problem is that because of lawsuits and insurance costs, the schools are actually limited in what they can do. The easiest thing for them to keep themselves out of legal trouble it pass the buck to the cops. With all the costs and potential risks, no one wants to help fix problems and schools become little more than baby sitters.

The "cops" weren't called. He was the resource officer (as well as a football coach) at the school.

I know. Should have said officer instead of cop.

Wasn't just you, there seemed to be a general misunderstanding.

SRO's are law enforcement officers, deputies, or cops. Whatever you want to call them. Schools have full time police officers present.

Not all, but some. Mainly middle and HS

I know when I was in HS, our SRO was a uniformed officer who was stationed at the school.

My high school had 2 squad cars assigned to the school, so we had 4 cops. Inside the school we had 7 security people, 5 guys and 2 women.

I just worked at a few schools and the high schools definitely had full uniformed cops. One of them had a station across the street

Problem here is they knew this guys history of doing this stuff and rven after the fact they said she shouldve listened.

                          That school blows

Cop in Oklahoma City was just charged with assault & battery for hitting a high school student who was walking in the hallway without a hallway pass.

Apparently the girl is an orphan. Lost recently her mom and grandmother, and is in Foster care which is probably why she never said much to anyone.

Also the kid who recorded gave more insight
