Somebody posted that in another thread with more stuff about the girl. Obviously she's receiving quite the backlash.

Was this a prank or what because for what she wants to accomplish she is doing a terrible job going about it.

I actually thought she was on drugs with the way she was talking and just being obnoxious about it. She kept on rambling about how she's going to post it on Facebook for all the world to see.. wtf? Then she tries to tell the customers behind her the story, who you can easily tell don't want to hear it.

If she wasn't on drugs, I think she forgot to take them since she was wacko.

I admit, I do not find the idea behind this story very controversial (but I appreciate the share nontheless because I find the discussion interesting). I took a chunk of Women's Studies and Gender Roles classes while pursuing my B.A. in Education and while taking those classes, I also admit I was initially thrown off by certain teachers who posed questions such as, "Why are male baby's rooms always blue and not pink? And vice versa?" and "Who's to say guys can't wear dresses? Why is that even a thing?" I felt some of my professors were a little too fanatical about gender roles but over time some of the general notions really did begin to make a little bit of sense.

I think clothes, colors, and interests are just clothes, colors and interests. If anything, I think it's commendable the school was willing to acknowledge that it's okay to be different. As it stands, gender roles are firmly entrenched in society and for kids, it's been ingrained that it's a line they will never want to cross if they do not want to draw the ire of their classmates, even on a Spirit Day. To be honest, I think that may say more about intolerance than it does about anything else (or the potential for intolerance anyway).

At my school, we banned "Pimp & Ho" Day when I was a sophomore, but I better understood the issue there, as it was a day that seemed to lend faux support to illegal sexual activity. For a "Mix It Up" Day though, I view it in a similar vein as "Backwards Day" or "Crazy Hat Day". People normally don't dress backwards or with crazy hats because it's not viewed as typical. People wearing crazy hats may be bullied if they did it day by day but again, is that a matter of the crazy hat being at fault, or those intolerant of something unfamiliar?

I digress though. I wish not to create an extended void between interesting story posts.

Yup. It was something created by our Cross Country team. For one meet per year (don't know when it started), the participating students created a day where the male runners would come to school dressed like pimps and the females like, well, hoes.

Guy in my area just ripped off his own penis the other day.

An Ohio man remains hospitalized after injuring himself in a drug-fueled craze.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglar alarm at Ypsilanti Middle School late one night last week and found the 41-year-old man naked, screaming and bleeding from his groin.

The man had ripped off parts of his own genitals and had lost enough blood to make it a life threatening situation. The man, along with the parts he tore off were transferred to an area hospital.

The man later told police that he had taken mushrooms while visiting friends at a house nearby.

During a soccer game in Brazil, referee, Otavio da Silva, gave player, Josenir Abreu a red card and expelled him from the match. Abreu did not agree with the card and started arguing with Silva. Silva then did the one thing a referee should never do, fight back. They started jawing back and forth and it eventually led to fists being thrown.

Silva then took out a knife on the player and stabbed him. Josenir Abreu died from the wound on his way to the hospital.

Minutes after the stabbing the fans rushed the field and started stoning the ref. The battered and nearly alive Silva was then decapitated. The Brazilian fans took Silva's head and put it on a stake at midfield.
