Really ? I thought 2K14 tweaked a lot in terms of their association modes, especially with GM and player interactions.

I really don't think UT has anything to do with Madden lacking in progression. They are still making changes or we wouldn't have seen the epic failure that is connected careers.

UT has stayed about the same every year and to me would require the least amount of changes and work. I'm definitely not a dev, but I just can't imagine it would take all that many resources to work on.

I was a fan of NBA 2K14 and did like some of the changes to MyGM. The player/owner/coach interactions were pretty cool, but I didn't even see most of the ones that they touted in the beginning even after playing about 2 and a half seasons.

Outside of that last gen's Association mode was much was just better (trust me I'm not the only one who feels this way). VC while I didn't mind it was much as most people was still implemented terribly. We lost things like editing ability, D-League, the Draft Combine, can't create players, etc... I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of stuff too. And this was coming off of 2-3 years of literally no improvements to Association Mode. I'll give them credit for improving Player Roles with a patch, but it was so terrible out of the box that literally anything would have been an improvement.

As far as Madden, it's sad that their Franchise Mode from PS2 was better than what we have now. Outside of adding a Online Franchise Mode I can't think of a single positive that came from their CG franchise mode. I'd be happy if they would just add players, position battles, hold outs, signing assistant coaches, etc that we had almost 10 years ago. Now they can't even add the ability to edit draft classes. Football gaming is just in a sad state. Maybe it will change with Madden 15, but I seriously doubt it.

Both can be patched extremely fast. You only changing values.

Take the football games for example. You can get rid of all that sliding and warping just by changing ONE NUMBER. But yet EA refused to do it.

I'm very confused by this post. I'm no programming expert, but from what i've seen it involves several numbers and then a lot of testing to make sure it actually worked.

I find my newfound approach to sports games has helped me enjoy them so much more.

Step 1. Open game
Step 2. Find sliders (if I decide to take it that far)
Step 3. Avoid forums from there on out
Step 4. Enjoy game without all negativity

My latest approach is stat tracking. I save a simple spreadsheet on the PC and after each season of association/dynasty/franchise I log the numbers. I've been tracking draft classes lately, too. It's fun to try and break personal records and see which prospects become studs or busts.

And yes, it's very nerdy

I enjoyed sports games a lot more before I stumbled on OS.

I just cant get into ultimate team. Its a mixture between pay to compete and playing online with strangers (read: *******s). Neither of which are attractive to me anymore.

Id rather play a casual game with a handful of friends online.

I've done this for the past 2 years or so and have had much more enjoyment out of my sports games than I probably would have going through the forums. I don't need or want to know every single problem with a game.

Hell I don't even really use sliders anymore. For me it took out all the fun of the game itself and became more of a job tweaking things and questioning why such and such was happening. It was just an endless cycle that went pretty much nowhere.

Are you a dev?

He's not a dev, but I know for NCAA there's an editor where guys can get "behind the scenes" in a game and change all kinds of stuff. Everything from game play tweaks to adding four and six team playoffs you can add yourself. Those people who mess around with that type of stuff might as well be devs.

You don't have to play UT online. At least not in FIFA. There's a whole offline seasons mode.

I didnt know this. Ive only experienced NCAA Madden and 2k ultimate team modes.

Yep. I've played over 200 matches in FUT and maybe 5 or 6 were online.

The offline is super fun and addicting.

You just need an internet connection to fetch your team off EA's server each time you start the mode up.

But why not just go to create a player and build your custom team yourself? Save some time and/or money; assuming you strictly play offline.

Do you have to jump through hoops to go about using these edits or is it fairly straightforward and simple?

Because it's all about the chase and the build up of making a good team.

Though I've hardly played any Ultimate Team modes ot anything like that, I get the appeal.
