I think John Mayer is one of the smartest musicians I've ever heard, and isn't as big of a douche as the media portrays him to be.

Oh, and Jimi Hendrix is super overrated

      Re: Uncommon Opinions

I enjoy how it went from Pro Sports has more parity to just the NFL has more parity. It's all subjective based on the definition or #s used, strictly on football it's about equal as mentioned as there are more good teams in CFB then in the NFL based on the # of teams there are.

There are so many factors in the CFB/NFL argument, for example in the NFL it's all professional level talent but in CFB there are several different conferences, etc.

My little input on the situation is whether pro or college, the only sport with true parity is baseball. Literally any game, any team can beat the other.

I agree, but, I would say that a lot of that is because of the number of games, though.

But unless I'm an Iowa fan, I'm probably not going to be as interested in an Iowa game when the only thing at stake is whether they go to the Walmart bowl or the Amazon.com bowl. Even a good matchup between say a 2 loss #10 team vs. a 3 loss #18 team, what's meaningful about it? Can still be entertaining and fun to watch, but not more than an NFL game between 2 good teams imo.
Well, then, what about Week 17 when you've got the 12-3 team who already has home-field facing off against the 3-12 laughing stock? Instead, you look at a similar game in the NCAA, an 8-3 team vs. a 3-8 team in their own conference, that is going to be a much better game than that NFL game. 8-4 and 9-3 could be the difference between playing in the Meineke Car Care Bowl and playing on New Year's day. And, plus, you know that 3-8 team won't be laying down for their conference opponent, whereas in the NFL, you could be playing to lose for better draft position, or even just completely checked out.

Anyhow, on the whole, college sports are, in my opinion, just as exciting as their pro counter-parts. You look at March Madness, every CFB season, the CWS, etc. and it never fails to impress.

Again, the NFL has more parity. You're not going to win.
So, the top six teams win 78% of the team, and you consider that parity? Yes, it is closer than the 84% for college, but I still say that it's pretty non-existent.

Fair enough though. You are correct sir.

                  Re: Uncommon Opinions

Dang this thread really blew up quick. Back in the beginning of the week it was 2 pages, now I'm up to 15. (on 60 ppp)

Anyways I guess here's mines some are repeating what others have.

                  - NFL Football is really the only sport I follow with a passion, I'll catch some Hockey or Basketball games if they're on but I really don't follow any team, and only real pay attention when it's the playoffs. I like the Oakland A's in baseball, but I can't watch baseball every day of the week during summer.. so I catch their scores once per week and the closer it gets to September I'll see how they are in the playoffs hunt.

                  - Not a big fan of watching College Sports.. Maybe it's because I didn't go to College but I always felt like there were too many teams, and players to really have a vast understanding of the entire league. And if you do study it by the time you really know all the teams, the turnover ensures the best players go to the Pros and you have to learn about a whole new class of recruits. College Football I'll watch if it's a big game and nothing else is on but otherwise I could never really get into any.

                  - Someone mentioned not liking Pepperoni on their Pizza, I'll take it one step further.. I don't like any toppings on my Pizza unless it's extra cheese, or steak bits. I just like Plain Pizza with a hint of Garlic powder on it.

                  - In women I think I like Breasts, and Booty equally but I tend to notice Big breasts more.

                  - I don't really eat candy anymore, but I had a fascination with Sour candies during my teen years. Loved Shocktarts, and Warheads in High School.

                  - Given the choice between really hot weather (say 90 degrees) and really cold weather (say 20 degrees) I'll take Hot weather every time. I can't take the Cold, I walk really gingerly, I start losing feeling in my hands and feet if I'm out too long. I hate snow now, just does nothing except clog up your driveways, and sidewalks and mush up the roads.

Then you watch one of the 5-10 games that do mean something instead.

Lacrosse is my favorite sport after football.

I enjoy College Basketball, but I hate the pros (Not sure how uncommon this one is, though)

Inception was an okay movie and is not that mind blowing or complicated. They're are in 4 dreams and to get out of one dream you must fall what is so complicated? (yes there is more to it but that's the main idea)

I actually agree with most of this, I think Inception is still a good movie but after seeing it 2-3 times I've realized it wasn't as mind blowing as I first thought but that's probably due to catching everything in the movie.
