Today is IPA Day. No better time to give this idea a shot, or I guess a pint.

Seatbelts (for drivers) create a false sense of security, slowly lulling one into less awareness,
thereby making for worse defensive driving. Which is the key to safe driving.
Seatbelts should still be mandatory for drivers under 21 though , & all passengers under 21.

          Bro....no....just way the **** no.
I don't care how much "aware" you are of driving defensively because you aren't wearing a seat belt.
You'll be even more aware of how ****ed up you'll be when you get ejected from the vehicle or pinball around the interior breaking all sorts of **** on your body.

If you change the way you drive based on if you are or aren't wearing a seatbelt you are doing it wrong.

I believe there is a different between uncommon and "wrong." There are more than a few driving rules/laws I don't follow all the time. Wearing my seatbelt is not one of them. That's just not smart, to me.

I wish all buses had seatbelts. Not required to wear, but I sure as hell want to wear one.

This is one of the most outrageous things I've read on this website.

I'm gonna go ahead and chalk up Ghost of the year's post to a goof or troll post. No one smart enough to find OS on the Internet and create an account could be so ignorant & foolish as to believe such things and make such an absurd statement.

I can imagine a cop pulling someone over...

"License and registration. Son, I pulled you over because you weren't wearing your se....." sees his driver's license says he is 20 years old, "...... oh nevermind, carry on. Stay safe!"

Opinions may vary but the stats are the same for everyone.
If the numbers for fatalities for seatbelt users weren't just under 50% and closer to, say 20 or even 25%.... well. But I would never attempt to discourage anyone who felt safer for using them. And if the people who put their faith in them stood up & demanded their children be buckled into their school buses, that would be ''putting your money where your mouth is''.
As is stands for now, that's just too expensive an endeavour.
Also, if it's good enough or the fine folks in New Hampshire, then it's good enough for me.

This is completely different than what you posted. Pretty much just shows you don't even know what you are arguing.

First it was that it changes the way people drive and now there is no mention of that in this post.

I hope you wear your seatbelt so when you get in a accident on the highway your body doesn't turn into a missile and kill a dog in a car in the other lane
