I agree Zep has created a lot of good to great songs, but to me, Kashmir stands alone. It took three years for them to make 9 minutes of music. Not saying taking three years means it's their best, but I think that says something.

      It's all subjective, anyway.

Zep fans won't always agree what the greatest song in their catalog is because they are many. I wasn't a fan till later in life.

If you don't like how much money sports teams & players make, you should probably quit buying sports games, apparel, memorabilia, tickets, etc.

I don't remember the last time anybody paid $1,000 to watch a teacher teach.
TBH, I was kind of throwing out a number because it seemed to be a fair figure. I definitely don't think that $1M is an unfair number, nor is $200K. That's a pretty nice year's work (for not even being a year of work)

And as far as the teacher example goes, teachers and educators make far more of a difference in the long term on a person's life than any pro athlete does, which is why I don't understand the huge discrepancy in pay.

Honestly, I would just like to see more integrity across the board. Ultimately, the sporting industry is for the fans and anything the owners do should be in the fans' best interest. If salaries were lowered, they'd be able to lower ticket prices and still make plenty of money. Really, I just don't like the fixation on money and having as much of it as possible. It's a really idealistic and not at all realistic view, but I believe that it would improve the integrity of the game.

Ultimately, I simply don't like the American fixation on money. I just don't understand why people need millions upon millions of dollars in incentive to play a game that I play for free on almost a daily basis.

Part of my opinion, too, I'll admit it, is the fact that honestly, I simply can't afford to enjoy the product with prices the way they are. In the past 2 years I've attended 2 professional sporting events and a few assorted minor league games, and of course college games (which I get into for free... muahahahaha) over the past 2 years. And I've bought 2 games in the past year (FIFA and NBA 2k), but other than that, I simply can't do it... so it's partly selfish. But at the same time, there are plenty of people in the same boat as me. Who simply can't afford it. And I believe that ownership and the leagues owe it to their fans to do everything in their power to alleviate that. That's probably a bit unfair of me, but I still stand by it.

I feel like we could go back and forth on this issue forever, so we may as well just agree to disagree. When it comes down to it, you definitely have a point, and I don't think change is coming anytime soon. So that's my 2 cents (perhaps a bit more than 2 cents. ). Sorry for the rant. No hard feelings. I can't say that I agree, but I totally understand where you're coming from.

I prefer that the bands/artists I like come up with their own material, especially if it's the singer. Don't get me wrong, I like covers and stuff too, but I don't live off their covers in the way that I like them the most.
Yeah. Not why I enjoy their music. The lyrics themselves aren't what makes me enjoy them. I'm less of a "What do the lyrics say?" kind of person and more of a "How do you sound?" type of person. I blame the fact that I've been a choir nerd all my life.

Sorry for another post, but I also wanted to say that I'm far from being an economist, and I have no idea how that would work from a money standpoint. All I see is the average NBA player earning 5.15 million a year and the highest averaging teacher's salary is NY at 72K. Huge discrepancy in my mind. But again, I'm really not smart when it comes to this stuff, and you probably know better than I do.

Oh I mean I like both, but kind of as I was inferring, I've heard versions of people's songs that I can sometimes like better in terms of sound... but it won't get me to follow them in the same way because I know they didn't write to perform it from their own hearts, if that makes sense.

I'm not hating on Rascal Flatts in any way, because I can like how they sound too... I just wish they only played what they wrote is all.

Microphones are overrated when playing video games online.

                      NBA referees are mostly inadequate.

                      Text Sims are awesome.

Five Hour Energy is a rip off.

I enjoy pizza with no cheese.

GZA is the best rapper ever.

I know you weren't. I get where you're coming from, and with certain types of music I'm that way as well. I'm just moreso inclined to enjoying songs for how they sound rather than the connection the band has with the lyrics. Different strokes for different folks.
