    That is a good one.

As I have gotten older, I enjoy going less than I used to but it still is fun for certain films. A movie like The Hobbit as an example is worth seeing in the theater.

I am too easily annoyed by stupid/rude people at the theater that use their phones or talk a lot during the show.

On a similar note, I don't like going to football games. I prefer watching on TV because its warm in my house and I can see the first down marker on the screen.

I do like going to other sporting events, though.

Going to a game in Seattle is pretty damn epic though. The volume of the 12th Man is actually something you feel...not just hear.

One other aspect of seeing an NFL game in person is really getting to see the speed of the players. Tv just doesn't convey how fast those men are.

Or how big they are. It's really crazy to see NFL players in person.

It's kind of awkward and a little rapey to bring a girl back to your house for a movie on a first date, though.

A movie is a mediocre first date anyway, go sit in the dark for two hours not talking, that's a good way to get to know somebody.

It's the best way to avoid awkward silences. Plus, you can talk about the movie afterwards. And these days, you don't need to really get to know somebody on the first date, because with social media, texting, etc., you're already pretty familiar with who they are and what they're about.

Idk, I hear what you're saying but I save movie dates for girls I've known for a bit (if ever). New girls, I like to speak with and get to know them. Awkward silences are avoidable the more experienced you are in conversing I guess. But sometimes they are unavoidable, in those situations I like to acknowledge them directly. Thats always good for a laugh.

All of my first dates were movies and dinner.

Oh I completely agree. In my experience going to restaurants (I'm talking national chains outback, longhorn, etc. not anything real high end) something like the ribeye or ny strip isn't worth the extra money.

At home however I've never gotten a sirloin steak to be anywhere near as good as a ribeye or ny strip. I've started doing mostly filets at home now. A couple of good store bought filets for myself and the wife are cheaper than getting a sirloin at a restaurant.

Personally I don't get steak in restaurants, it's a little too boring for me and if I'm paying that much I'd rather have something different if not experimental.

At home, occasionally I'll buy a nice aged ribeye or strip, but 9 times out of 10 I'll be buying a flat iron steak. Cheap, tender, flavorful, consistent, versatile, I'm a fan.

The awkward silence thing is funny, because once you've been with someone for a long time, the silence ceases to be awkward and becomes entirely welcoming.

Don't tell my girlfriend I said that.

There is truth though. My wife and I have been together 11 years now and we still have great communication, but we don't have to talk as much as we used to because we know each other so well already. As compared to getting to know someone, that is, where you are both asking questions and having long chats.

We do still just sit and talk about whatever sometimes. I'm trying to get at that there is no need for constant talking/texting between us at this stage.
