    Re: Uncommon Opinions

    I got a good one.

When I was in high school (around 2001), I tried on a pair of my girlfriend's toe socks.

Most comfortable socks ever. Men should be allowed to wear them.

I think that's great. Give. Don't give. Give to a cause that is closer to your heart. All these are fine options.

It just pisses me off to see people call for an end to the ONE UPLIFTING BIT OF NEWS to come out in the last few weeks just because it's too trendy to be cool.

I just ignore people who have anything ignorant to say about it anymore.

They don't realize how much more awareness it's bringing to ALS, something that in the past some have deemed "not a disease". Never mind that the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was started by someone with ALS. Never mind that it's brought in over $7 million since it started less than a month ago.

Let's just make fun of people for, whether or not they are donating, making people aware of ALS.

Never said that it's a bad thing for people who actually care and want to raise awareness. I'm more over the people that don't even know what ALS is and still won't give a damn after doing this. There's plenty w good intentions but there's also those just doing it just bc it's the cool thing to do now. Personally I haven't learned a damn thing about ALS from all of this.

              Google it?

You can still donate even if you do the ice bucket. It's not like it's some stupid cinnamon powder stunt.

This is the biggest one I can't stand from people.

"People are just doing this to get out of donating".

I know plenty of people that have done it and donated (upwards of a grand or more). I've seen comments on videos where people have said "OMG JUST DONATE THE MONEY", yet had they watched some of the videos, they'd see that there are people that specifically say "I donated money and you should to".

I thought most people who did the bucket dump were also donating ten or twenty bucks? That's what I'm seeing on my newsfeed anyway.

From what I've seen, most are. You can't tell that to illogical people though (like one guy that's trying to make an argument on one of my Facebook posts)..

But without those people, this thing doesn't take off the way that it has, and the famous people who are donating don't do it. Not that they are the only ones actually donating.

It's harmless and ultimately has a positive impact on a serious issue.

I don't see the problem with it. People have been doing ice water challenges for a long time, though. Just now it's been ALS specific. People were making the videos and saying "or donate to a charity of your choice".

I'm pretty sure this is Uncommon but there is a new lady that works where I do and she is THICK top and bottom, very nice looking but ALWAYS wheres tight clothing.

To me it's a I want attention thing with women built like that always wearing tight clothing. Kind of a turn off... I will look for sure but wouldn't try to talk to them other than general conversation or take them out.

Men and women aren't very different. Some do it for themselves and others do it for attention. Either way whatever works for their self-confidence.
