Anyone have some suggestions for outdoor gas grills somewhere around 500 bucks?

Last time I looked at Kenmore grills I was underwhelmed. My brother had one that lasted about 13 years, but they don't even make them like that anymore as far as I can tell (cast iron burners, etc).

He replaced it with one of these

And I was pretty satisfied with the quality. It's basically this grill that runs between $700-$800 everywhere else, only without the rotisserie.

Hmm. My mom sent me some pics of a couple from Costco. Both were made by a company I haven't heard of, Landmann and Richman. Not very comfortable with that but I guess for the price we can't be choosy.

What about this, since you mentioned Broil King? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AB7...ref=mp_s_a_1_8

I can't recommend anything but Weber grills. Great product and great customer service.

Smoked 4 racks of spare ribs and 2 racks of baby backs today for an annual golf tournament pre-party thing that's going on tonight.

We got a Charbroil grill from Walmart today, so I'm going to have to read the hell out of this thread.

I think I'm going to try and do ribs this weekend. I've never done them before so any tips/rub recipes are good.

I had a steak I cooked on my own Wednesday. A steak cooked by someone who doesn't know what they're doing on Friday (I think they were on the grill for 20 minutes, but it was free so it's all good), and then a steak by someone who does a decent steak but it's the $4/lb think steak with loads of stuff used to marinate it.

It made me realize just how good a high quality steak with just a little salt and pepper can be.

That's all I put on my steak. A little salt and then on grill for no more than 5 minutes. I need my steaks rare or I just can't eat them. It's very rare I go anywhere and it's done like I like it. So I prefer to grill it myself.

                        Any tips on grilling fish?

Using aluminum foil, flipping, stuffing, etc.?

Smoked some ribs for the first time. Its quite easy I have to say. Just gotta maintain that heat and invest the time. I only smoked two racks, but look forward to doing some more soon.

My dad got 4 inch filets from Costco for 4th of July! They were great on the grill. No clue what they cost, but we all enjoyed them for sure. Took a while to cook, but just melted in your mouth.
