I really wish I would have sprung for the weber with the kettle catcher. I need to rig-up something.

Alright, so this is what I ate this weekend:

Get a metal bucket and the clips used to hold the current ash catcher will hold a bucket. You can also switch to lump, which doesn't have all the clay and binders briquettes have that cause so much ash.

Can I find lump charcoal at any store?

Its not so much the ash as it is the paper I use to get the grill going. It doesn't bother me, but I don't really want it blowing over to my neighbors and risk having to communicate with them for more than two seconds.

These are fantastic for getting the coals going. They have them at lowes and walmart for a couple bucks.

I saw these at Ace Hardware and debated buying them, but since we already get the newspaper delivered, I figure using it for the grill is better than throwing it away and spending more money on grill cubes.

Get a chimney, and the only thing you need to spend money on would be paper.

Parents are coming over tomorrow and I'm gonna do pizza. I might try the bisquick dough again, but use bigger portions of cheese and garlic to give it less of a bisquick taste.

But probably go with a pre-made dough.

Bobolis are good for that too.

Find a good pizza joint and just buy a dough ball there. I used to do that before I started making my own dough.

I went with the bisquick dough again, but added more cheese and garlic powder. Crust wasn't too crisp how I typically like it, but it still tasted great and better from last time. The parents and my brother loved it.

                          Toppings:
                          Ranch dressing
                          Bacon bits
                          Mushrooms
                          Chopped tomatoes
                          BBQ chicken
                          Colby Jack cheese

Here's my first attempt at chicken skewers.

I made a few mistakes and learned a lot in the process. I had to snap a pic from the grill because they never made it off. People were picking them up off the grill and eating them.

I'll know more about what type of heat to shoot for next time along with better techniques for cutting and seasoning. They tasted pretty good, though.

I also grilled some hotdogs, burgers, and a few chicken breasts.

I seriously got home from work and didn't stop cooking until well after the sun went down and my dad was cooking fish, hush puppies, and fries at the same time beside me on one of the back deck tables.
