Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
Somewhat off topic, but have any of you ever purchased a cow and had it butchered? Just curious, as I've heard it saves a ton in the long run. I'm looking to keeping all of the meat, of course. I've got a mostly empty deep freeze in the garage.
Just wanting to get opinions on whether or not it's worth it.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Low Broil?
Gonna try and do pizza tonight. Picked up a pack of chicken grillers and marinated them last night. Gonna grill them, cut up the chicken, and do chicken-bacon-ranch pizza.

I have a engagement shower to go to tomorrow in Lafayette and the couples parents own crawfish farms so it should feature some damn fine crawdads. Two days in a row, can't beat that!Comment

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
What accessories do you guys think are crucial or mandatory for a grill?
I need to get a new brush, tongs, and spatula for my grill. My cheap tongs don't even open any more - I have to pry them open myself.
We grilled marinaded chicken and sliced peppers and onions for fajitas. Chicken was great. We also did jalapeno poppers (sans breading) wrapped in bacon and grilled them. Talk about spicy heaven!

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
What do you put your peppers and onions on? I've only done fajitas a couple times, but I end up burning about 1/4 of the mixture using aluminum "disposable" grill sheets.

Re: Official OS BBQ/Grilling Thread
Smoked an 8 lb Boston Butt on Saturday for some pulled pork. Due to heavy rain I didn't get it on the smoker until 1:30 pm. Pulled it off at 6:30 am on Sunday morning. The smoke ring was almost a half inch deep and the bark was nice and crispy. The bone pulled out clean as well. Best one I have made to date. One load of charcoal in the Weber Smokey Mountain cooker was enough for the entire smoke. Temp hovered around 230 degrees the entire smoke with little intervention.Last edited by FlyingFinn; 05-05-2014, 09:50 PM.Comment
