It's not the PMS man. The PMS is just like the gas that fuels the car so to speak. It allows her to let loose on her emotions.

You're going to have to be patient if you want it to work.

Fight the good fight. Don't get sucked into what she's dishing out to you.

Someone like that who has a lifetime of issues that she's dealing with isn't going to change overnight.

But you Must let her know that the disrespect will not fly.

Everyone needs to set boundaries in a relationship. Disrespect and cursing should be a good place to start.
Good advice. I hope she can eventually see how she mistreats me and we can deal with her issues. As for now, she starts fights and then manages to twist it into me being the one who starts them. All of a sudden I'm on the defensive and can't make heads or tails out of the whole mess. Hurts my head.

She's home now and hasn't said a word. I've been staying busy with yard work and leaving her alone.

Her mom took me aside the other day at a party and told me it would get better, so her family knows she is super difficult and as high maintenance as it gets. Her mom said this, but added that she is worth it. I thought to myself, "Really? Where's the worth in someone giving me hell all the time?"

And I thought we were friends. She complains nonstop about her job and family to me, and I listen and let her vent. Or she talks nonstop about her son who has special needs and how to deal with him, and again, I listen and offer ideas on things to do. He throws fits and gets in trouble all the time, yet I maintain my calm and help where I can. Often he just lies on the floor of the bathroom in the mornings and won't get dressed and screams at the top of his lungs. My daughter and I have to listen to this first thing in the morning and witness my wife and him go at it. Knowing she is stressed from his actions, I always bring her breakfast at work on her son's bad days. This is just one example of how I am her friend and try to help her. What do I get it return? I get her calling me slime, telling me to F off, and not speaking to me, all because I told her watching my daughter isn't a big deal while I work in the mornings. What an ungrateful woman.

      That doesn't sound good.

As always, there are two sides to this story, but if your version is accurate, well - she's not likely to just suddenly become a better person, especially if she believes her behavior is socially acceptable and something you should just put up with. She needs to understand that she's behaving like a crazy-assed bitch, that her behavior is not 'normal,' and that you could leave her *** if she doesn't begin to act like a more rational human being.

There are a multitude of ways to attempt to get those points across, some good and some bad dependent upon the personalities involved, so choose wisely, Lol.

I just know that I would be ****ing miserable with a woman like that. I'm sure you have to be as well.

Re: Anyone else have a wife/gf with horrible PMS?

There are some women who have rough time of the months. I live with a wife and daughter and they both take birth control tablets to lesson the mood swings when that time comes.

My advice, if this only happens before during and after PMS, mildly suggest to your wife to go to her regular doctor or a gny doctor and see if there is birth control or other products that can help your wife through these tough stretches.

Suggest that you both go for moral support.

Im kinda going through the same thing Ive been with my girl for about 5 years. Im seriously considering leaving her this october when our lease us up. To her everthing is always a negative situation, to her any comment someone in my family makes means they talk behind her back. To her badmouthing me to her friends and family is a good phone conversation. To her leaving all day on fathers day to go to a cookout at her sisters and not inviting me is cool. She came back at 12:30 last night and said happy fathers day. Because if im not showing any emotions it means its cool.
Last week I had a 12 hr shift. I came home tired and ordered a pizza for the kids and me. Were having a good time eating and chatting she wakes up and calls me a lazy motherf***** in front of the kids as im biting into a slice of pizza. This hurt my core deep inside honestly. I couldve cried but I swallowed my pride.
Im pretty much done. My good moments are at work joking around with co workers. I dont know exactly what it is but Ive never met anyone that cared or loved me in that way. Im 31.

I see a common theme, that has been repeated here....

Your Women HAS to have respect for you. If she doesn't, she will either end up cheating on/leaving you, or you will go crazy knowing that she has no respect for you.

Its the way of things. To feel like a man, and act like one, you need your Significant other to have respect for you.

Re: Anyone else have a wife/gf with horrible PMS?

I lived with a couple for 2 years( 1.5 years too long, avoid at all costs...) whom I was good friends with; They were BF/GF and I knew the BF for about 20 years and the GF for about 4. The GF would have absolutely insane mood swings when PMS came, The smallest thing would set her off and she would project her daddy issues onto him. They both work in the mental health field so the arguing is insane, she would know she is projecting and then would turn it back onto him. I got to listen to a really intense fight about 1-2 times a month, it certainly shaped what kind of women I want to end up with.

I cant even tell when my girlfriend is on her period, maybe she is bottling up the crazy like so many women do so well, I hope not.

It felt good getting that out there. The good thing about my situation is that It will probably be easy to get over someone who acts like that. The only thing that has been holding me back is my daughter. It sucks but sometimes people dont need to be together.
Its not a requirement to be happy, to be unhappy most of the time if that makes any sense.
Is it weird that I can see myself enjoying the single life, but I am scared of it lasting to long?

After working a 12 hour shift, for her to come out and call you a "Lazy Mofo" was just mean spirited. In front of the kids, its downright evil.

Re: Anyone else have a wife/gf with horrible PMS?

I just ignore my wife and when she asks why, I say "you know why" in a very calm tone. She'll then apologize and realize it's not her, but I do understand and try not to piss her off.

I mean if you really think about women, they got the short end of this stick.

Anything that bleeds every month for 6/7 days and doesn't die shouldn't be ****ed with. Just sayin...

My wife gets really bad cramps and the first 2 days are bad for her. I just do my best to try and make those days better and more comfortable for her. She literally will just go lay down when it happens so I get her what she needs, and play video games in the other room. I know she isn't up for going out or doing anything social so I give her space until "It Has Passed".

Wow. I don't have it that bad. My wife always comes to me and wants to make things right after a couple of days of giving me hell and doesn't fight around the kids. You don't deserve to be treated like that at all.

My wife came to me last night and asked to make up, but I told her we had to get some things straight first. She still won't accept responsibility for her behavior, still uses pms as her reason for being mean, and we decided that I will just not talk to her when she's feeling that way. I will be getting more time working out, hanging out with friends, and a lot more gaming. And I will definitely not be letting her ruin my time with my little girl.

She ruined Father's Day and that is the last time she will be allowed to get into my head. I will make up with her and try to be the best husband I can be, but if she attacks my character and treats me without respect she will be seeing a for sale sign in front of our house and I will be showing her the door. I deserve better because I treat her like a queen.
