Re: Off Topic 2014
It's called "THU". There's a bunch of us here. It's like a more confined A school without classes. Stand watches, work around base, get daily afternoon liberty depending on what section you're in and if your job doesn't interfere. We even have a full gym, entertainment center, game room, etc. on the second floor of the building..Comment

Re: Off Topic 2014
I'm not really in bootcamp, but I'm staying on the RTC base. I'm on a dental hold for a few weeks and all I have to do is stand watches and help around base with different things. I have pre op and then oral surgery Friday and next week I should get cleared to move on to A school. They are pulling my wisdom teeth and then two more.
Huh. In ours they did your wisdom teeth while you were in boot camp and you just had to suck it up. I'm glad I got mine out before I went to boot camp.MLB: Texas Rangers

Re: Off Topic 2014
Well, that's typically the plan, but I was in a push division and we lost a lot of training days because of holidays. They would have pulled them on the 26th and the following day I would have had my final physical test and gas chamber along with some other **** the following Monday. If I had any complications and missed an extra day I wouldn't have graduated on time.I chose to defer the surgery so I could graduate on time. We really had a tight schedule down the stretch and there was no room for being sick or anything.Comment

Same here. They pulled mine 6 days into boot. My whole platoon had them pulled in like 3 days iirc.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Heh, interesting. I wonder what the reasoning behind that is. I mean, I know most people eventually have to get them pulled anyway, but some people don't.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
