And speaking of Disney and Ducks.....
Why can't Disney just let them use that name/logo again! That was my fave sports logo ever and I never even liked the team, I just liked their logo/jersey. Even if they cant use the Mighty Ducks name, at least let them use the logo as their main one again!Comment

Mainly because Disney has nothing to do with the club anymore. The first thing the current owner did was completely get away from the Mighty Ducks name and identity.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Off Topic 2014
80s and 90s had things right for the most part in terms of kids tv. Today I just go on wikipedia to read the types of shows they air today and some of these new main shows seem horrible. I think parents would be better off just getting Netflix or something and showing their kids the shows they used to watch when they were a kid.

Re: Off Topic 2014
Friends,3rd Rock from the Sun,Survivor among other shows are what mine watched and I watched when I was younger cause they did.
Never had any problem with shows like Pokemon,DBZ,Digimon. Wrestling slightly, but that was more of a "wrestling is fake and disgusting" type of way more than a "kids today watch stupid things" type of stuff.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2014
My parents were always cool about things I watched growing out from what I remember. Mom even watched some things with me. Are You Afraid of the Dark and early The Simpsons being two I have memories off. I think most watched primetime family sitcoms with us, so that gies without saying.
Dad however took no part in any of that. If it wasn't a movie or sporting event, he had no time for any of that. Made up for it by allowing me to watch comedies I was too young to be watching at the time. Worked for me.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2014
My parents didn't allow us to watch a lot of shows, including, but not limited to: Rugrats, Recess, Hey Arnold, The Fairly OddParents (not that that counts as "90s TV, but it was during my childhood), Digimon (which I absolutely loved growing up. That was a dark day, indeed.), TMNT and Power Rangers (both of which we watched anyhow)MLB: Minnesota Twins
NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

Re: Off Topic 2014
My mom was the **** when it came to TV. She pretty much allowed me to watch anything as long as it didn't involve sex(the classic close your eyes or leave the room for a few min until a certain age). We would always watch Rugrats when I was really young, Dexter's Lab later, and Fresh Prince.
The only thing I can ever remember she thought was completely stupid was Cow and Chicken, which it was.Last edited by Chrisksaint; 03-27-2014, 03:53 PM.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Off Topic 2014
My grandpa still watches Road Runner cartoons and laughs out loud when stuff happens to Wile E Coyote. It's amazing to me how easily entertained he was, I mean he was a really intelligent man in his day, still is, and something as simple as boulders falling on a cartoon coyote just completely busts him up.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Off Topic 2014
I don't really know what my Mom watched as kid other than Wizard of Oz. She only ever got to watch TV when her Dad wasn't home. I think she watched Mod Squad and Bewitched. Grandma loved Hawaii Five-O, though.
Dad was all about the westerns as a kid. I can't even list all the ones he watched, but The Virginian, Rifleman, Gun Smoke, Have Gun Will Travel, and others have all been picked up on DVD so he can watch them 1000 more times.
Parents never said much about what we watched. I remember watching Perry Mason and The Waltons with Dad while he was off work. Mostly, though, I remember watching Fox Box after school and on Saturday mornings. I think ABC still had cartoons on in the afternoons, too. Whatever Animaniacs came on. Only show I really watched with my mom was the X-Files. I also wore out our VHS of Excalibur - which considering my mom declined to allow me to buy an Eminem CD still surprises me to this day.

Fairly Oddparents was the one show my step-dad would occasionally watch with me, there was always some joke I didn't really understand at the time that he'd laugh at.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
