Off Topic 2014

Maaaan, last night my throat started getting scratchy. By the end of the night it was a full blown sore throat but no other symptoms. Of course, I tossed and turned and now I can feel the aches coming on. Tough day at work yesterday but this feels more then physical labor soreness.

I just had the flu literally 2 months ago. That was an insane fever, aches, and a bitch of a cough but my throat was actually fine. I know something's been going around, at least a few people have been out of work with strep and whatnot, so I hope I'm not getting that.

Of course, the regional manager is coming today which is why we've been busting *** to make the store look presentable. I'm thinking go in for half a day, hope she gets there early and bounces out, and I'll just follow. I really don't wanna leave my team hanging even though the work is pretty much done. I won't feel bad if I'm there for some of the day, and I'm off tomorrow to help recover if it's just a 24 hour thing.

EDIT: andddd the visit was cancelled. Just ran my plan by my GM and he gave me the news. Just headed in for a meeting now. Clutch

When you guys did internships and stuff, how much outside work did you have to do for the academic side of it? Anything besides a paper? Because I swear they're having me work way harder for my 3 credit hours than I felt I should have to. I mean, I did my 150 hours of internship, why should you pile a ton of academic work on top of it?

I was supposed to write a paper at the end of the academic year. I couldn't be bothered to do that an they still have me my three credit hours PLUS I was paid for it. As soon as I got the credits I transferred to LSU.

Damn... And now I have to write an extra 8-10 page paper because I didn't attend any of what they called "virtual classrooms." Now, you ask, why didn't you do this? Is it because you're lazy or a bad student? No, it's because they all coincided with either my class times or the times in which I was working at my internship. They're penalizing me for being a ****ing responsible student. SMH.

Slowly dying since I left work... Everyone in this morning's meeting was like, "You look like you got hit by a truck." Toughed it out until about noon.

The upside was they provided breakfast, and there was a lot of fruit. Alllllll da vitamins

Just read a story that the police arrested a 17 year old kid who was planning on killing his family, planting bombs at his school, setting a fire in town to distract first responders, kill his school's resource office, then going on a rampage through the school.

Police arrested him after getting a search warrant because someone called the police after they saw him acting strangely at a storage facility.

The kid admitted to the police that he would have shot the arresting officers if he'd had a gun on him at the time, but he only had a knife.

Wow...

My boss has been on the phone with a telemarketer/scammer for about 30 minutes playing up computer problems and **** for fun.

I've done that with the guys pretending to be from Microsoft telling me my computer has a virus.

The best part was the cuss out he gave me at the end when I couldn't string my cover along anymore.

It had shades of Kerpal (NSFW) all over it.

When I was a little kid. Anytime a telemarketer called asking for my mom or day, I'd tell them she or he had recently passed. You know, act all choked up it. The reaction from these people was priceless. Probably a messed up thing for me to do, but I was trying to play Goldeneye and Mario Kart with my boys.
