Wellll, I guess both of you are correct.

Egypt’s ambassador to France, told the nation’s BFM television: “All I will say is that our embassy in Athens told us that it was contacted by Greek authorities, who signalled that they found white and blue debris corresponding to EgyptAir’s colours.”

But Greek sources have told Reuters the material they had found so far was not blue and white.

The Associated Press meanwhile has word from an unnamed senior Greek official, who says the debris found so far does not belong to flight MS804.

Debris spotted does not belong to plane believed to have crashed in the Mediterranean with 66 people on board

I'm flying from Cleveland to Orlando in October. Haven't flown in 18 years. This makes me nervous.

You're more likely to die driving to work tomorrow than you are flying.

I knew someone would say that lol. But yeah that's definitely true.

I've taken that exact flight (the direct one via United, used to be operated by Continental) more times than I can count. It's a joke. Only about two hours from wheels up to wheels down and it's a routine, daily thing. Nothing to be nervous about at all.

I've taken several 10-12 hour flights from the US to Japan and back along with a lot of shorter connecting flights in between and I've thought about it occasionally, but I do agree I'm more at risk driving to work.

I think the difference is more things can go wrong on the ground in the air (more obstacles, more idiots, etc.), but when things go wrong in the air there is so very little leeway in overcoming them, especially if it's mechanical or environmental.

I best not worry about it, because I know it's completely out of my control and if it's the most efficient way for me to get somewhere I'll take it. I fear the worst as well, but I'm trusting of the people in front of the plane and the people who make it.

These days I'm more concerned about ride attractions, though it won't stop me from going on those either (gotta get rid of this concussion first though).

While this is true, the flight originated from Charles De Gaulle in Paris, which can be tough to avoid. I myself have flown through there at least 5 times.

If I was ever going to the Middle East though (which I assume will be never), the only Middle Eastern airlines I would fly on are Emirates and Etihad, or I would go out of the way and fly on British Air, Lufthansa, KLM, or go west and find a way to take ANA or something.

Paris is now involved in like the last three terror attacks in Europe and the Middle East. I am including them as a place to avoid.

Thanks man. I'm sure once I get on the plane and we get in the air I'll be okay. I'm so excited for the trip that I think that will ease my fears too.
