The part I hate about the time change, now it gets darker earlier! By 5pm the sun goes down. No wonder fall and winter are so depressing.

Literally the best part about it. Not depressing in the least. I wish it went down earlier.

You ever try a carb reduction? My friend swears by it, says when she goes low carb she doesn't get any heartburn or gas

That's exactly what my doctor had me do. We figured out that the carbs were feeding my acid reflux/heartburn/nausea issues in the worst way.

Now I know that if I get it, it's usually because of the carbs.

Starting June 1st, I went with no carbs for 6 weeks with a Nexium every day, and then he had me do 6 weeks no carbs without the aid of a Nexium. That alone "healed" my stomach for the most part.

I still have those issues from time to time (as well as a litany of supposedly unrelated issues) but it's significantly better.


Not eating carbohydrates is *way* more depressing than less daylight could ever be. On the bright side, I can have all the meat and cheese I want.

This is great advice. I have been low carb for the last 6 months and was on it for about a year before that. Before I went low carb/no sugar, I would kill people with my gas lol. When I'm on it, I have virtually no gas at all. Not to mention the weight loss aspect of it.

Once you get over that initial shock of giving up a lot of carbs, it's actually not that bad. I will have maybe one or two days a month where I eat all the carbs I want, but when I'm not eating carbs, I'm eating a damn steak just about everyday

So......my brother comes into my building today (he works for another Government Project Office on base) and fires off a round (blank) and scares the crap out of me. Evidently it was a planned Active Shooter Drill. Thinking I was shot and dead was an insane feeling.

Are people just joking, or do they actually not like it being bright later in the day? How do you not like that? Unless you live in a place where it's so hot during the day, that the sun going down is a good thing?

I guess in places where it's cold alot, you appreciate it being sunny more often.

Because anything I could do during the day, I can also do at night and when it's dark outside >> sun shining bright outside any day of the week.
