I can't do contacts, honestly. I vastly prefer glasses.

On another note: I really do hate to brag, but I just found out that my little brother and his relay team made state in the 4x400 relay. He tore his PCL about a year and a half ago and had surgery on it about a year ago, and this was the first (and last, as he's a senior) high school sport he's been able to participate in since his injury. Again, hate to brag... but damn I'm proud.

Contacts really don't even involve that much maintenance for what they do for me. Trying to play sports with glasses is a disaster.

+ my transition lenses don't compare to my actual sunglasses.

I don't wear contacts that frequently, but I always do when I play any sport...nobody wants to be that guy who has to stop the game because your glasses got knocked off and you have to pick them up.

I don't play sports so I'm OK. But you bring up an interesting point with sunglasses. Prescribed sunglasses are expensive as ****. Would be nice if I had contacts and could just get a pair without having to do that.

Eh, they're doing the surgery now without even cutting the cornea open so soon enough I'll have it done I'm sure.

ive been wearing glasses since 3rd grade and im 22 now and i wore my glasses when i played baseball and when i played HS soccer. im very near sighted with astigmatism so when im not wearing them its hard for me to see the ball

Same here.

I was given glasses at age 13 or so and wore them for a grand total of about one day before deeming them unnecessary. I put them in their case and buried them in my sock drawer and never wore them again. They were the mildest possible prescription that you could get and they made next to no difference to me, so I stopped bothering. It's been well over 20 years since then and I still don't need them. My vision damn sure isn't perfect by any means, but I get by just fine.

And most pro athletes that are wearing these hornrimmed hipster glasses as a fashion statement most likely have no idea who even started that trend some 60 odd years ago...

I wear contacts 90% of the time. Once I'm settled in for the night at the house I'll switch to glasses.

My last boss grew up with vision problems, however, and he maintains that saving up for and getting the LASIK surgery is the best money he's ever spent.

I hate my glasses, I'd wear contacts all the time if I could, or do the surgery if I had money. I get a headache if I wear my glasses too long and I can't stand not having a full field of view.

I've gone glasses only after years of contacts. All Ray-Ban everything. The only thing I miss is dozing off in bed at night while watching TV. Watching blobs isn't the same.
