Way back in the day when I finally started exploring music outside the radio, my buddy gave me Atreyu and Funeral For a Friend to get me started. I didn't like either one lol, it took time for them to grow on me but now I look back on them as absolute classics and the first step in the broadening of my music interests. Re: Off Topic 2015
It is easily one of the greatest games I have ever played. I can't think of another game that has been as interactive within itself and with the gamer. Not to mention how insane (and goofy) the story ended up being, being able to talk about story developments via the Codec, solid gameplay, and a memorable cast of characters.

Yeah, my brother came back from being overseas and gave me his music collection when I got my first MP3 player. Saves the Day, Hawthorne Heights, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Funeral for a Friend, all those early 2000s scene bands. It took a while for me to appreciate the dirty vocals, now I love them when they work within the song.
Casually Dressed is considered a benchmark in post-hardcore, but I was always a bigger fan of Hours, the follow up. Like their last couple releases too, they went more hardcore with an edgier delivery compared to the more melodic vocals of the past. They took a big hit when the drummer/dirty vocalist left the band before the last 2 albums. Welcome Home Armageddon is a proper follow to Hours, IMO, even though it was 2 releases after. Should get more love.
All the Rage is a contender for one of my favorite songs of theirs. Streetcar was on Madden 06's soundtrack, I remember not digging it for the longest time but now I have no problem with it. I really don't dislike any FFAF songs.
They're playing their first two full length albums front to back before calling it a career. Unfortunately, they're from Wales and all the shows are over there... I'll end up having never seen them live as they haven't been to the States this decade, I don't think. They're pretty big and well respected over there, but kinda faded in popularity here.Last edited by slickdtc; 09-15-2015, 09:47 AM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

And I finally beat [MGSV] this weekend.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: Funeral For a Friend, there was a time I listened to some of that kind of music. Can't really do it anymore. It does not age well at all.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2015
Totally just got around to Metal Gear Solid and the Shadow Moses Incident. I'm only 17 years behind. I'm not quite sure that 11 year old me would have fully appreciated and comprehended it at the time, though.

Re: Off Topic 2015
Was planning on going to San Fran Nov 5-10 with my friend, but now he is having back issues and a bunch of medical bills, so he can't go. Luckily we hadn't booked anything yet.
Meanwhile, I still have those days off and still want to go somewhere. Don't mind travelling by myself at all, so my options are pretty wide open. If I don't just end up going to SF, I want to go somewhere I've never been.
My four other places I've had in mind are Boston, Denver, San Diego, or Seattle.
I don't want to rent a car, so wherever it is, I would like it to be a place where I can get around to a lot of places on foot or by public transit.
Anyone have suggestions?
EDIT: Hm, I see the Bears are playing at the Chargers on Monday night the 9th. That may have made my decision easier.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 09-15-2015, 12:13 PM.Comment

I've been to Atlanta probably a hundred times and have never left the airport.
I usually get to the airport 2 hrs before I depart but I also like to be early.MLB: Texas Rangers

I'd say at least two hours early though. It's nuts there.Comment

I fly out of Philly often, and try to get there 2 hours early. I still end up waiting for an hour or more for my flight to board. It's a pretty busy airport. I know ATL is supposed to be pretty crazy... I have a layover there in a month.
Depends on time and day. I fly out super early.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Off Topic 2015
I'm always an hour early leaving Omaha... but Omaha gets so little traffic that even that is perhaps even *too* early. I've had connections in Atlanta before, and it was pure mayhem, but I've never had to go through the security checkpoint there. Hopefully mid-day on a Wednesday will not be so bad.----------------------
