From all my friends that have six packs, they always the same thing: six packs are made in the kitchen.

For workouts check out this youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/moricestreet909

Only way to strip off fat, is to be in a caloric deficit, best way to do that is to still keep your Protein high .8 - x1.5 grams per lb. of body weight (maintain muscle mass while cutting) and lower carbohydrates. While doing some form of cardio, HIIT being most effective. (Sprints + Battle Ropes/Sled Pulls, Prowler work) is my favorite combo.

Cutting out most processed food helps a ton, but also watch Sodium intake; avoid overly Salty foods and if you do have a high Sodium day make sure you're drinking plenty of Water which you should be doing anyway)

Even then it's going to take a while but you'll notice results if you stay steady with your diet. If you want to get your Abs more defined you may want to train them additionally but make sure you give them enough time to rest and recover like any other muscle groups. (Jackknives, Oblique Twists with a medicine Ball or Weight Plate, Cable Crunches*, Woodchoppers, Reverse Hyperextensions) Are the most effective Ab exercises IMO.

        Re: 2015 FITNESS CHALLENGE

After getting down to 165 last year, I ended the year at 172.5. In total since March 2013 I lost 85 lbs., really happy with myself overall. But in 2015, I'm finally joining a gym and hope to improve muscle tone and work on getting my abs to shine.

Good luck to everyone on hitting there 2015 goals!

Starting crossfit next week. After years of staying in shape, whether playing collegiate sports or on my own, this last year was the first year I started to "let myself go" so to speak. Went from roughly 8% body fat to about 19%. It is a really crappy feeling and I need a jump start to getting back to where I want to be and start eating right again.

              Re: 2015 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Busted out my first workout of 2015 last night. The Stuart Scott news had me in a funk all day so I figured the best way to honor him was to get to the gym and put in some work. Knocked out 4 miles on the treadmill (it's been too cold/snowy to run outdoors) and then did some kettlebell work before finishing with a good stretching routine.

I've decided to go ahead and keep my membership at the gym. I've got it worked out to where I can get in 2-3 quality days there, so I'll be getting my money's worth out of it. Plus, the program I'll be using should help me in my running and cycling.

                Re: 2015 FITNESS CHALLENGE

It's been almost 6 months since I've taken the gym seriously. I feel like **** being out of it that long, and I'm determined to come back stronger than ever. I not only want to look good but feel good. I'll be going with a program that I've been wanting to start since this summer, but things including my job, moving out of my old apartment and back home, etc. got in the way of things. If anyone's interested, the program's called Growth Stimulus Training (link) I'll be posting my personal program here in a couple of days and will be starting right away.

In the meanwhile, I need to head on over to either Dick's or Sports Authority to cop some workout gear. In the process of moving out of my apartment and back home, I must have lost most of my workout gear since I can't find any of my workout clothes anymore.

Anyways, good luck to every one starting on a fresh page this year!

                  Re: 2015 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I've taken a slightly different approach with my 2015 goals. Over the last few years I've developed good steady workout habits and love to cook, so have been fairly good (with a few binge exceptions) on the nutrition front. But I've started to take a more holistic view of my health and fitness and have noticed two things: one, as I get older, my recovery time is getting worse; two, mental and emotional health is just as important as physical fitness. So on top of my 4 day per week lifting routine, my goals for 2015 are to add 1) at least 15 minutes per day of meditation, 2) yoga once per week, and 3) at least 15 minutes per day of stretching/mobility work (I love Kelly Starrett's stuff at mobilitywod.com and his Youtube channel).

Finally, I want to be better at pullups. By the end of 2015, I hope to be able to do 20+ strict pullups unbroken (right now I'm at about 8-9).

Got in 15 miles running this past week. I will be doing a weekly spin class at the gym to keep my cycling conditioning when I can't get my bike outside.

Is TSC Heart of a Champion and My Six Pack Life the same? I picked up the latter to start tomorrow.

Aw snap I missed this, Rules.

Contact Chris Kreuger - tell him you want to start the TSC Heart of Champion 7.0 - He will respond and send you instructions, it's free. I have been 'following' Chris for a while now, he has remarketed this program - but ultimately, he's one of the best and down to earth guys out there. The crazy thing is he does the challenge along with his subscribers and followers - and has had to do it in real life when he hurt his back a couple years ago.
