You look better without the mask, lol.

Awesome job. All the hard work in the gym certainly paying off for you.

      Re: 2015 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Looking to get down 10-15 pounds. Only 28 but have definitely noticed a big difference in the last couple of years.

Diet usually is tuna, turkey sandwiches, breakfast bars, Greek yogurt, string cheese, and fresh fruits.

We (wife) just joined Anytime Fitness. Looking to bust out cardiovascular 3-4 times a week and alternate upper and lower in between them.

Anyone have any workouts supplements they would recommend? Looking to increase muscular endurance and overall strength.

        Re: 2015 FITNESS CHALLENGE

Inching close to 30, I noticed a big change and overall decline in general conditioning after a sedentary winter with too much good food and drink. Like a dramatic change from the year prior.

Through spring, summer, fall, and early winter 2014 I was running 10-15K four times a week, and biked to work and pretty much everywhere else. Was sitting around 165lbs at 5'9.5." Usually whatever exercise I'd done during the year was enough to stave off the effects of an indulgent and sedentary winter— not this year.

By the end of March I was up over 180 and felt and looked absolutely horrible. It was a damn shocking amount of weight that I must've started packing on during the holiday season, and made worse by shutting up shop on running for the winter when I'd had enough of a leg injury at the end of December.

I'd been at 180+ when I played football and rugby in high school and through my early twenties, but this was an unathletic fatness I'd ever felt before.

Started running again in April, added weights back in after about a year off, made changes/reductions to my diet, and am back down to 155, have gained strength and feel fantastic. Oddest sensation was when I got back down to about 163lbs, walking in the grocery store I noticed it seemed plain easier to walk, and my brain was giving me these weird signals like my leg should be heavier and harder to lift than what my body was actually doing.

I'm not trying to make myself into an athlete again or anything like that—just trying to get to a healthy light and lean build, and implement more dietary discipline habits in order to lay a good foundation for my thirties and beyond.

          I've gone from 248->225

I'd like to just lean up another 5-10 lbs. I've tried to exercise regularly and not eat too much. Probably going to need to really keep a closer eye on things to get rid of those final few.

Thanks cima for recommending ESP pre workout matrix. Started on it today and 3 hours later my hairs on my arms are still standing. 90 minute workout was nothing. With C4 I was dragging after 40 minutes.

Anyone have any good online yogis they can recommend? I did quite a bit of searching and settled on Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube but I wanted to see if there was anything others could recommend.

A buddy and I started Air Alert III today. I'm used to just running and it kicked my ***. Hope to be back on the basketball court next month.

I've never been much of an athlete or a cardio guy, but I love lifting weights. I've been in the gym for a year now and my body doesn't show a lot of definition (mainly because I'm a ginger and have very pale skin in my opinion) lol. However, I have become above average in terms of weight that I lift. I'm not looking to lose weight because I'm around 165. Is there anything I could do to increase my definition and not lose weight?

Played some pickup basketball today for the first time since winter. Felt good to run full court.

Man I was just looking for some help, and if you don't have any help to offer don't respond. I already go to the gym 4-5 days a week and work out for a minimum hour and a half with only 30 second rest periods. You can't just tell someone to work out harder when you don't know anything about their workouts.

But that really is the solution.

30 mins of workout isn't enough and I can guarantee the intensity in which you are working out isn't enough to develop the definition you are looking for in 30 mins a day.

Most people that have been in the gym for that long and haven't seen progress are not doing one of two things. Either dieting properly or working out intensely enough. That is what it always comes down to. Unless your genetic makeup is just that poor that you can't develop muscle.

Oh trust me I understand. I did say 1hr 30 min though. I've been doing the Microcycle Mass routine from Bodybuilding.com so I've definitely pushed myself to my limits.

                              Sorry, misread that part.

Then most likely it is your diet. I certainly am no dietitian so I can't offer you the greatest insight there, but mostly like you are going to have to drastically increase your caloric intake, in addition to supplementation with BCAAs, Glutamine and most likely Protien as well.

If you are really pushing yourself to your limit for an hour and half, 4-5 days a week, you should have seen plenty of definition by now.

I am a college student so it is hard to have 3 amazing meals each day, but I do eat 3 meals a day including at least 2 protein shakes. I'd say the only food group I don't eat enough of are different vegetables. I usually just stick to salads and broccoli.

However, I do not take BCAAs. I recently invested in some creatine monohydrate though.
