I looked up to see if my zip code was subject to blackouts for MLB.TV, and the Yankees/Mets are blacked out. I really hope there are changes for the 2015 season.

If cable is adjusting then the industry is dying and will be dead.

Their future options are to offer streaming like options. That's not cable. That's a totally different industry. So even if they are "adjusting", it means they are entering a new market.

Soon enough, and not very long from now, Netflix will also be dead as we know it. But Netflix was smart enough to see that and develop their own programming.

The future of television is networks being pumped to you through individual services. Rather than being a time Warner customer, you'll be an NBC Comcast customer. Or an ESPN Disney ABC customer. Or HBO.

It's happening really soon. Those that continue to ignore it will be left in the dirt.

Same with League Pass, btw. Hornets' games are blacked out and I have to go to the local channel to watch them.

Not for 2015 but I thought I read they working on a new agreement to loosen these restrictions. It's the one reason I won't cut my cable either.

I dont think it did, especially with colleges in business. I think the person who mentioned that was talking about how much of a chunk e books have made physical books only sort of "the old way" of doing things.

TWC won't go down without a fight. Too bad they won't adjust their price points and plans to match their competitors.

We use NimbleTV, it's basically Dish Network but you can stream it anywhere on any device, plus you can add 4 other users on your account. Our monthly bill is $23 a month thanks to this.

Or the big box retail industry for that matter. Seems a bit premature.

I believe they are trying to get rid of the restrictions for secondary markets but I don't think we will ever see the blackouts gone from primary markets.

Last year they got rid of the Saturday blackout from FOX games which was big so that's a start.

We've cut the cable for years and I've never looked back. People have always wanted a la carte cable, but the way I've understood that the cable industry was framed, it wasn't going to be possible. Cable providers will need to adapt to on-demand type broadcasting or sink. People have had enough of their prices, their sporadic service and low flexibility.

NimbleTV looks like a model of what's to come. NimbleTV looks legit on the surface, but I don't think it is.
