Re: Tell me OS if you think this is a legit coming collapse
Not sure if it's enough for me yet, but it's huge. I needed HGTV, food network, and shows like that.
I'd have to go through what was offered to see if it hit most of what we liked.
The downside is ease of use. Kinda sucks to have to flip between a bunch of apps to change channels, you know?
Definitely will check out the Xbox One trial though!
Also, I'd have to somehow set up a manual DVR, which doesn't really work for all the streaming apps.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Just taking a stab in the dark, but I'm guessing you're from the U.P.?I think it's great that we are seeing more options enter the market as consumers. But realize that Internet speeds are still really ****ty in certain parts of the country. You can forget streaming anything consistently at my parents' house and they only live 8 miles outside of a town.
It's not going to take over overnight.Comment

Can't speak for all those listed but knowing some of the book industry, I don't think it is dying. Being bit into by the internet, maybe and transforming certainly, but 1) the heavy consumers of books are still heavy consumers of books - libraries, schools, academics, etc... and 2) a lot of the companies working in the new e-reader industry are or are involved with major publishers, so the book industry isn't really dying IMO but is rather just changing significantly.Comment

Changing is what was said about it. Doesn't have the significant hold it once did or people found other ways of getting it primarily through the Internet. Can't speak for all those listed but knowing some of the book industry, I don't think it is dying. I think we could all agree there.Comment

Re: Tell me OS if you think this is a legit coming collapse
I do think the cable industry will either die or at least die as we know it in the next 10-15 years. I would expect all of our TV viewing to be done over the internet soon enough. We'll see exactly how that develops. Will channels like ABC, TNT, etc. migrate online, like ESPN has, or will we see new streaming services like Netflix come to dominate?
And when I say die, I don't mean that they will necessarily cease to exist, but they will greatly decline in significance.Comment
