Re: Off Topic 2016: Guzzling
This is the first time it has happened, he's starting to get up there in age although it's hard to figure out his actual age, he was adopted from someone who is rather shady (she also said he was fixed, even though he clearly was not lol, I mean cmon, this is something I can see with my eyes, who did she think she was fooling?), but he's minimum 8 years old, according to the questionable woman he's 14.
He has two annual checkups and typically tests out very well health wise, the only regular meds he needs are monthly heartworm preventive pills and some dental cleaning (freakin' dentastix liars). He tricks me into playing toys way more than I probably should lol, it seems like he's in great physical shape for a middle age/older age dog. (he's a shih tzu, so it's reasonable to assume his age expectancy is a little on the higher side)
After the seizure (which only took about 15 seconds) he has returned completely to normal, eating and drinking like he normally would, kicking his feet (he does this all the time lol, one of his favorite methods of communication), and we just got back from a walk. It's crazy, he seems fine now, but he also seemed fine before the seizure.
I don't know specific seizure types, all I can do is explain what happened: I came home from my store run and he was bouncing around like usual, happy to greet me (I usually ignore him as I've read I shouldn't encourage him being super excited when I come home) and then I heard a little "thud" while I was putting stuff away, noticed him toppled over on his side doing the "paddling" motion, then he starting making the "reverse sneeze" snort noises, then he lost control of his bladder, and made a veined yelping sound.
He recovered very quickly, and even seemed to take ownership of the pee accident (as if I would punish him for that lol), and has been totally fine ever since. I really hope it was a fluke, especially with how he's been acting afterward, and his last big checkup was less than a month ago, but I'm worried anyway, and holy damn I didn't mean to type this much, sorry guys!
Its weird because I've known dogs that have one seizure and then never have one again.
If it were anything serious he probably wouldn't be back to normal.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Guzzling
Absolutely. One of my dogs has had seizures for years. He is on two medications for them. He rarely has them now, but before the meds he had one or two a week.
We also had a really old Yorkie for a couple years and he had grand mal seizures. He would literally bounce off the floor and into the air they were so bad. It can be pretty horrifying. Eventually we had to put him down because his quality of life just wasn't good.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Guzzling
Yes, they can and it's scary as hell when it happens. When it happen to my dog, Butters, his were also accompanied by a lot of blood from his nose. I took him to the vet and found out that he had a tumor in his nose. He was only seven and it was just a terrible watching him go through that.
Oh and I'm not trying to scare you, l3ulvl. Hopefully, it was just a one off thing, but like PVarck31 said if it happened again I would take him to the vet.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

It bothers me in that video that he says "orthagonally". The word is "orthogonally".Comment

Re: Off Topic 2016: Guzzling
Anyone remember the commercial earlier this year where four people are sitting around a table (I think two couples), and the guys are dick-measuring over something? Finally when the last person brags about his last thing, one of the women goes, "This isn't a competition..."
Can't remember what it was advertising. Googling that phrase didn't much help either.T-BONE.

Bought that game (Pandemic) a while ago, but it got pretty old for the 3 different groups I tried it with. I mean it was a good game to try out for sure, but the appeal to me didn't last long.Comment

Sorry for the double post, but I got MLB The Show 16 for $16 the other day and I've been hooked ever since. It's my first one and I've had a PS3 since launch date. With my PS4, I wanted to see what the game had in store and I have no regrets whatsoever.Comment

Loved the show as a kid. Still remember some of the classic episodes. Beaver Fever with the bear singing Barry White and the episode where Dag was a soccer hooligan.

Re: Off Topic 2016: Guzzling
I just played two new games last weekend that were a lot of fun. Dead of Winter from Plaidhat games and Blood Rage. Both of them were a huge amount of fun. I am actually looking to buy Dead of Winter right now online. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012
