Maybe the end game of life is to digitize itself so it can never die....
While all this is true, a lot of people in the know think Earth could have been seeded with life and not even originated here.

Also, we know organics are out there in space because of what we found in the plumes of water shooting out of Enceladus. We've found other organics on Mars as well. So we know that if we are finding them in our own back yard, you can pretty much safely say they are everywhere int he universe.

After 15 years, the end may be near for Opportunity

NASA works to revive Mars rover Opportunity, but hopes are fading

NASA's Opportunity rover landed on Mars 15 years ago this week, but the long-lived robot remains out of action in the wake of a global dust storm last summer that caused it to lose power. Engineers are still trying to contact the spacecraft, sending commands and listening for any sort of response, but hopes are fading, a senior manager said Friday.

"We're getting close to the end," said John Callas, the Mars Exploration Rover project manager at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. "At some point, in an emotional sense, you have to say 'enough' and move on, to say goodbye."

My favorite part was the theory that once a space is over capacity for matter, it eats itself (the black hole).

                    Spaghetification to be exact.

And don't worry about getting swallowed up by a black hole. 0% chance of that happening.

The most likely scenario for our ultimate demise is at our own hand, whether directly or indirectly, or an asteroid. Personally, I'll take the asteroid....Any time now....

I'm taking an online Astrophysics and Cosmology class. Very interesting and maybe too much math, but we'll see. Watched the first few lectures and passed the short quiz's.

That's the one bugaboo about these fields for me....TOO MUCH MATH! I listen to some astronomy related podcasts and when they go into the weeds I have to really concentrate to get a picture of what they're saying. LOL

I actually took an astronomy class in college, was labelled Physics 060 and was designed for non-science majors (Though I was a biology major). Was actually very little if any math involved (which was good because I'm not good at calculus or physics) as we just learned to concepts without any of the mathematics and only basic physics behind them. Was a really easy class and I think the professor said I had one of the best grades overall.

Hey, I was also taking that same class and the professor also told me I had one of the best grades overall. What gives?

In all seriousness, in one of my Master's program classes I got to do a thing where I propose a new unit for my subject area (math), and I wanted it to be an exploration on the concepts of infinity. A lot of it involved astronomy/space talk as well. It was a very fun project to make happen. Too bad I don't have the time to actually embed it in a real curriculum of mine.
