This is ridiculous. Sure, advocate for plagiarism. What if OS writers plagiarized and that was discovered? What if I became the most prolific OS writer on here, published articles for the site, and it was found out that I copy-paste everywhere I go?

I know, we'll just post a picture of Lisa and let it go. Or maybe we won't, because it only matters how close to the chest it plays, which is a bit hypocritical.

Let me remind you that I did not act on the first video that this guy deleted, other people took care of that for me. Clearly I'm not the only individual to see this is an issue. As of now, I can name who this is not an issue to. Starting to lose serious respect for those individuals.

I realize I can be weird at times and overthink on certain issues. I thought I'd have more backing on this one though.

I don't think the principle is what the picture is for, man.

Well it certainly didn't help the situation, either. I think that could have been left un-posted, while mine has some actual merit.

Maybe it's best not served for the OT thread, I don't know. I work damn hard to make sure my own work is original and genuine, unless I credit others for using theirs (for example, my recent music cover video), so this is a big deal to me.

I think I care just enough about it, and I'm worried about how little others don't care about it. Seriously, what if this guy ends up making money off his YouTube videos? What if he out-popularizes your videos because he has more views, subscribers, likes, comments and shares? You'd be okay with that?

Anyway, I'm done. What's the topic again? Fall Back? Got it. So how was that extra hour of sleep, everyone?

I don't do Youtube videos. I don't watch Youtube review videos. I don't care if he or anyone has a million or one follower/subscriber or whatever they call it. I don't put any merit into any "reviews" that people do on anything, especially on Youtube.

The last week in this thread has been amazing considering what was talked about.

From talking about how kids should EARN their candy on a day where Candy is handed out for free to talking about how someone on YouTube earns their money.

We need a Blzer and Maj podcast, y’all lol.

That person will out themselves for plagiarism when/if they start making money from the advertisements. That’s the only time rules are enforced, when money changes hands.

I actually read an interesting article yesterday about the world of children’s entertainment on YouTube. There’s some seriously weird stuff out there. I think it relates here because this stuff is churned out in such massive quantities that the author was convinced it was probably a bot or a combination of a team of people and a bot. I could see a music review video being similar “fill in the blank”. The way the title is arranged allows for it to be a top hit in a search engine or autoplay, and once it ranks high it snowballs.

Not sure how a person can be confused that people that don't read student's papers nor write themselves couldn't care less about plagiarism.

At least 40% of my posts are copied word for word from other Twitter accounts.

Another 20% are things I see from another account and change the wording a little bit.

So only 40% of what I say on here is 'original content', and I haven't made a dime from quoting Ken Rosenthal.

So to me, plagiarism is only a big deal if you lose money directly. Which most of the time isn't the case.

I’m with Blzer on this. There is a very fine line in acceptable plagiarism and that wasn’t one of them.
