I had to trick my palette, I drank tea with a little sugar for a few days, then without sugar, and craved coffee, but didnt drink it for like a week, and then after drinking the black tea for a week, I drank black coffee and boom, I was in.

zero calories, and all the coffee I want it worked for me.

Starting today of getting back into running. I haven't run seriously in probably six months. I am expecting this will be quite painful. Wish me luck!

          Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge

Eight weeks into my push to get the beach body back. My fiance and I started working out back in early April, running 1.5 miles 3-4 times a week, and lifting 3 times a week. No gym membership, so we lift out in the garage using the dumbbells, straight and curl bars we have, with an ancient bench. Able to get a decent variety of lifts for each muscle group, but obviously are somewhat limited.

Looking and feeling much better, and I'm glad to be back in a routine. I'd been talking about getting back in shape for months before we started, and after almost 4 years of working an office job and drinking lots of beer, it was time.

We just got a couple mountain bikes (for free) so we're probably gonna test those out today, and hopefully incorporate biking into our workout moving forward.

Biggest thing I feel I'm missing is a true meal plan. I generally watch what I eat, and try to cut out things like soda and sugary drinks. But I don't track calories or anything like that, and drink my fair share of beer. My goal wasn't necessarily weight loss though, so I'm less motivated to change my diet drastically.

The struggle right now is to find some new and interesting workouts to switch things up and make more progress.

Made it 30 days. Had a somewhat spur of the moment trip to Northern VA to visit a friend. Ate poorly for about a day and a half. It wasn't a small cheat and wasn't a binge either. Definitely worth it. Had some ice cream one night then some Krispy Kreme for my 6-hour drive back. Then had some frosting cookie sandwiches as the finisher. Five guys was mixed in there as well as the actual non-dessert cheat.

Today I got right back on track and had a great lift + cardio session and I'm back into the swing of things. That's the key for me...getting back into a routine immediately.

Next stop is 215 lbs. Once I'm there I might be close to 10% bf

Last week I hit a milestone by making it in to "Wonderland", hitting 199 and was down to 198 today. That's 26 pounds down since the beginning of March. I have about 6-7 more weeks to lose 8 pounds and reach the goal I set of 190 before my vacation at the end of July.

The Thursday before Memorial Day we went back home to watch my niece graduate high school. It was a seven-hour drive and there's nothing good to really eat while traveling so I had Taco Bell and a frozen Snickers bar on the way there and Burger King on the way back. I didn't go off the rails too bad while I was away/during the long weekend but didn't stay on my plan either and when I got back I was up 3 pounds. I did get back on track and my Friday of the next week I had re-lost that 3 pounds plus some.

Lastly, those people who say stuff like "once I stopped eating junk food for awhile, I tried it again and it was horrible" well, to put it nicely those people are full of it.
I definitely get filled up faster now, but junk food is still delicious. I don't crave it as much now, but when I do have it it's still good to me. I've had my fair share of cheat meals over these past few months, but the important things for me is a) portion control and b) on days I do have a cheat meal, then eat as good as possible the rest of the day.

I can say this weekend I finally hit 175, thats 33 pounds since Valentines day. I had weeks where I lost 4 or 5 pounds, weeks where I only lost one.

Funny thing is I lost 16, and then my work started this biggest loser thing, I joined it, and am still near the top with an additional 16 or so pounds lost. This pened my eyes to how badly I ate before, I plan on watching what I eat from here on out. I dont ever want to get over 180 again.

idk man, a flip switched in my head and I was able to do it and maintain the discipline,
do you have a link to the article?

                  Thanks.

Up to 222 after two days of a couple cheat meals. The sweet stuff I had honestly wasn't even that good. I'm ready to get back in the gym and knock out like two weeks straight of clean eating and no more junk.

I'm sure I'll be back at 220 or under tomorrow morning when I wake up after the cardio I'm about to do.

If I cured myself of my sweet tooth I'll be estatic. Like it really didn't even taste great. Yep I was a sucker who still finished it but I was thinking how it didn't even really taste that good while halfway through.

Yeah, its weird going back to foods you once ate all the time after a month or so of not eating them. If its chips or something similar then the salt/seasoning will get to me or the taste just won't be as vibrant.

Figured I'll start posting in here since I can actually do stuff now, but my goals are a bit different.

I'm trying to gain back some weight/strength/muscle that I lost after 2 surgeries. I couldn't really work out before so getting back into the swing of things is difficult.

Feels great, the worst part is just seeing where I am now compared to where I was. I'm going M-F, though I had to take a couple week breaks due to going a bit too hard and injuring myself/doing workouts I probably shouldn't with my body type.

Up about 11 pounds in 2 months though. Here was today's leg day.

Arms are my weak point because my 2 shoulder surgeries. They meet their reckoning every Friday even if the weights aren't there yet.

This was today's (though not all the sets at the end are exact numbers. I get my main in then do what I can past those.)

Close-Grip Bench Press - 85x6, 85x6, 95x8, 105x10. 95 to failure, 75 to failure, 45 to failure. Failure on just the bar humbles you.
                                EZ-Bar (standing) Curl - 35x8, 35x8, 35x10, 35x10. 25 (just the bar) to failure.
Dumbbell Incline Curl - 8x10, 8x10, 8x10, 8x10 (this is where I'm the weakest by far. My scrawny arms just haven't gotten back to where they were at and it's real... not embarrassing, but definitely motivating to need to get back.)
Concentration Curl - 10x10x4. I'd like to move up in weight, because my right arm can do 15 pounds but I want to keep my arms on even weights so I stick with what my left can do before it dies.
                                Barbell Triceps Extension (skullcrushers) - 25x8, 25x8, 35x10, 35x10. EZ-Curl bar (25) to failure.
Triceps Pushdown (with the rope) - random weight selections, 3x to failure.
Overhead Rope Extension - random weights, 3x to failure
Lying Triceps Extension - 10 pounds to failure
Assisted Dips - Just go, don't count.
Diamond push-ups - same, no count just go.

About 60 seconds between sets. 10/10 would regret again. Wasn't in that order. I just do close-grip bench first, then alternate bicep/tricep exercises. End with dips and pushups.
                                bad
