Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge
Day 11 about in the books. Just did a core & cardio day. Great core workout...well pretty good. Then hit a 20 minute run outside and said let's push it and hit up 10 40 yd sprints with walking back to the start line...and it was on like a 3% incline.
Get those summer bodies boyos
PS I still want to eat a cupcake more than anything right about now
And to wrap it up, I did 4 laps around it with my Training Mask(get yourself one if you haven't because if you can run with that on, then your cardio won't be an issue going forward as long as you skip the cupcakes haha). Felt real good afterwards although my legs are a little sore today, lol.
As for you and cupcakes, I'm the same way with Pizza. Been craving some for awhile but I'm trying to resist the urge. **** ain't easy haha.#RespectTheCultureComment

Did the 10 40 yard sprints at local park around an small soccer field(had to be about 60-70 yards long)and after each run, I did 10 Ab Crunches on the Pull Up Bar that was there.

I've seen the mask but man I just can't see myself wearing it. That's good that you are able to benefit from it.
Day #14 today. This is where I usually falter and give in to cravings. I purposely will be working OT the next 3 days to limit my free time lol. Not to mention the scenery is going to be...nice.
Also I challenge you to a 40 competition

Yea but IMO they are probably costly for the low amount of calories you actually get. $1 each I see? Problem is eating like 2-3 then you just ate 30g sugar
I love the Qwest protein bars but they are $2+ each and only 200 cals. I could eat 2-3 over the course of a day. It gets expensive

Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge
So I was 208 in February. I read an article saying if I eat under a certain amount of calories based on age and height, I could lose a pound per week.
so mine was 2000 calories a day, if I stay under that, Id lose a pund per week. After 2 weeks, I thought I could eat a few hundred less and servive, so I ate closer to 1500 per day. I can say this weekend I finally hit 175, thats 33 pounds since Valentines day. I had weeks where I lost 4 or 5 pounds, weeks where I only lost one.
Funny thing is I lost 16, and then my work started this biggest loser thing, I joined it, and am still near the top with an additional 16 or so pounds lost. This pened my eyes to how badly I ate before, I plan on watching what I eat from here on out. I dont ever want to get over 180 again.
idk man, a flip switched in my head and I was able to do it and maintain the discipline,Comment

Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge
Yea man diet is so vital
It's super easy to eat like 3k cals a day and over a month you just pack on 5. Then you do it for half a year and bam there is 20-25 lbs of fat
I'm on day 21. Woke up 221 today and don't think it's legit 221. Anyways I have 11 more days to go. Struggling with my sweet cravings still. Was hoping they would go away by now...

Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge
Just got through 6 weeks of the 100 pushup challenge. 6 weeks to a hundred pushups my *** lol. It's all good though. I'm currently stuck on week 4 (if I can't hit the required reps on any day I repeat the week) but I'm feeling real good and I still progressing each day. Started out only being able to knock out 16 solid ones and now I can do 39. Also on my first day I was able to do 31 total over 5 sets with the last one being a burn out set. My last day I just did I was able to get 107 over 5 sets. Some solid improvement there. Chest, shoulders, and triceps have made solid gains with core tightening up as well. Feel like for whatever reason my biceps and back are as well but that's probably from work (manual labor). Going to switch it up now and focus on pullups for 6 weeks with a 1 set pushup exhaustion at the end to maintain. Pretty motivated right now.
Side note is my 3 oldest kids have been doing it along with me and they are all about it. Their goal was 25 and my 11 year old son just hit his goal at the 5th week, my 6 year old son knocked out 27 at his 5th week, and my 9 year old daughter hit 20 at her 4th week. I am so proud of these kids and the improvement they have made. Their form is pretty damn solid for young kids. Even the 6 year old. Proud papa moment.
One other thing. I just recently quit caffeine and my god do I feel so much better. I was probably getting around 800-1200mg a day between coffee and preworkout supplements. For any who don't know that is just a stupid amount. Anyways I was starting to feel off for lack of a better term. I'm not overweight and I eat pretty damn good but I actually got a bit scared thinking I might be showing signs of a heart attack or something like that (I'm only 35 for crying out loud). So anyways after stopping the caffeine (it's been 3 weeks now) all the wierdness I was feeling is gone, I feel less stressed, and my blood pressure (which usually runs between 135-125/95-85 (I know not very good) has dropped to between 120-110/80-65.
Wow that was a novel I just wrote. Just felt like sharing.Comment

I had to keep restarting over and over, that I have taken a break from exercising (I have shoulder problems right now anyway), and when I return I will go to my own/old pushup regimen that did a bunch of different kinds of pushups. Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge
Side note anyone who does try to quit caffeine the withdrawal symptoms are no joke man. It seriously feels you have the hardcore flu with head and body aches. Then you're all irritable. Freaking sucks man.Last edited by tdawg3782; 05-26-2017, 10:32 AM.Comment

Re: 2017 Fitness Challenge
Hahaha. Believe me bro I feel you on that. I have 4 kids and I honestly think that's why my caffeine intake elevated so much. I've always liked coffee but then it just started to keep getting higher and higher. Luckily the youngest is 4 now and they all sleep through the night pretty well other then the occasional kid ending up in my bed lol.

The crazy part is that I'm super caffeine sensitive. Anything more than one cup of coffee or any pre-workout at all will have me all jittery. Same with fake sugar (dextrose, sucralose, etc...).
I'm pretty anal when it comes to reading the back of labels and researching foods. It was pretty hard to find protein that doesn't have a lot of artificial junk in it but I took a chance on Naked Whey and am really enjoying it. I say "take a chance" because it only comes in a huge 5lb container and it's like $85. Love it so far though.
