Any gift ideas for girls ages 6-10? I got them Shopkins stuff and one really loves Emoji anything but i'm pretty much clueless on anything else.

Do they like to craft? Any specific hobbies or interests? Favorite TV shows?

I have 3 nieces - two of which are in grade school (1st grade and kindergarten). Last year I got them Disney dress up trunk (Amazon has it for about $30) and that was a hit. In the past I've gotten them various craft sets. My "favorite" one was a set where you could make your own hair bands.

This year I'm introducing them to DC Comics via a couple "learn to read/help me read" books from DC Super Girls along with a game set that has like 5+ games included in it.

Ooo that's a good idea, my youngest niece is obsessed with Wonder Woman. They are up to their gills with Disney princess stuff so I try to avoid that. I'll go with the crafting idea too, i got them a bracelet maker kit last month and they loved that.

Up in Orange County they have the holiday lights in bloom on the weekend and also the Victorian stroll. The drive would be about 2.5 hours. If you google it you can get info.

It's gonna be too far this time around but I really want to visit Asheville, NC. I often look at houses in the region.

That might be good. I'll have to check it out. It looks like the forecast has thinned out a bit so driving 2.5 might not be as bad.

Hag a date night with the wife on Saturday. My in laws are watching our son and we are going to see The Man Who Invented Christmas and then have dinner.

This movie looks really good and I love the idea behind it.

                Re: Christmas 2017

Mentioned it abit in the other thread, but I'll expand in here.

                Christmas Pet Peeves:
-Glitter (in ANYTHING. Cards, wrapping paper, gifts etc.)

-Getting gift cards (Don't know the last time a gift card wasn't used at Tim Hortons lol, it's like a lifetime supply basically since more comes in each year)

-Opening gifts before Christmas (this is mainly a kids thing. When having family stuff for Christmas, people like having their kids all opening their gifts right then. Which might be a nice thing in the moment, but when you got abunch of little kids getting stuff, opened gifts might get mixed up, or one kid sees something another kid gets and wants that instead of the gift they got, even if it's the same thing lol)

-Being in a parking lot or store during Christmas season (thankfully online shopping keeps the joy of getting people stuff, without the annoyance of the Christmas rush in parking lots and stores)

Also, all these Hollywood Christmas movies making it seem like every Christmas has a foot of snow around the entire city and this is only time there's ever really snow. In reality, I think even in Canada, I've had majority of Christmases being "green" instead of "white". lol, "what's a Christmas movie without snow?" My answer...."a realistic one".

                    As do I.

I typically get a gift card to Best Buy and then a Visa gift card to spend anywhere.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Can’t go wrong with them or straight up cash. I don’t think any less of someone if they go for gift cards instead of gifts.

Cash is always best because it can be used anywhere (except online, stupid laptop disc tray doesn’t take dollar bills!) but I feel like they’ve guilted people in to getting gift cards instead, and those ones that you load with money take like a $5 fee. Nothing like spending $55 bucks on a $50 gift card.

The ones to a specific place are usually straight. It’s those Visa gift cards that get you.

Our main 2 year old Hallmark Christmas tree is on the frits (That the technical term for those in the know). Looks like we are going to buy a new tree tomorrow. We’ve already taken off 95% of the decorations. I don’t mind having to decorate again, it’s just setting up a new tree is a lot of work. Ah well, get it done and move on.

18 more days. I’m getting really excited. 44 year old big kid.
I am the lesson after the fall.

It's a few weeks early but we're having a Christmas miracle in South Louisiana.

                            Spoiler

Now it will probably be 70-80 degrees on Christmas Day.

I take back the miracle comment because the snow has knocked out the power and it's not going to be repaired until tomorrow. Below freezing temps are on the way tonight and we don't have a heater. Talk about a weekend ruiner.
