      Re: RIP Mo...

I've been trying to stay away from this thread because reading this stuff only makes it harder.

For better or worse (at least in regards to my productivity), Mo was one of the first guys I came into contact with on OS back in the heady NCAA days. Wasn't long before I found the college football forum and then once I found the neighborhood/supporters area I was all in on OS. And Mo was one of those guys that was there for ever step, even the pivot to twitter dot com.

For a lot of us (mainly those who don't support United) he was the guy who would try and troll us at every given chance, and I'll definitely miss that because it was always harmless and fun. But he did not let on how much good he did in the world. Dude had a heart of gold and did a lot for his people and for his city. Like many, many of y'all here was there for me after the flood in the lowest point of my life and I will forever be thankful for that. The human race lost a good one.

Glad he got to see the Cubs win one in his time, sad he could never see Alex Lange pitch for them and ask me for a refund after every appearance. Because he would.

And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

I thought I would share this leukemia ribbon for anyone who might want to use it as their avatar in honor of Mo being laid to rest today.

And didn't know if anyone else would want to have their username changed to orange, the color associated with leukemia.

Maybe if we do, we can somehow share all of us having this solidarity in remembrance of Mo with his family and friends.

I wasn't really that close to Mo, but we did converse on Twitter from time to time and he would occasionally remind me about FSU beating Auburn in the 2013 Championship game..

I saw where he was talking about what was going on, but he was vague on the details (rightfully so). I just sort of assumed he would beat it, which was pretty stupid of me to do..

RIP Mo.. just too young to leave this Earth.

Mo and I were both huge Dale Sr fans and each time either of us bought a new Earnhardt Die-Cast or any Die-Cast for that reason we would talk the longest time about them. I'm still in such a state of shock. Damn this hurts. I'm really going to miss you brother.

                  RIP Mo

Never told you but your opinion on the games was something I always took notice to here on OS going back to the older days. Learned many things from your posts (especially for FM). Very sad to hear.

                    Re: RIP Mo...

The money from GoFundMe came in a week before they said it would be in there by, so I've received a bulk of the funds and made the donation for everything that has come in so far plus an amount from me so it doesn't get skimmed by GFM.

                    Spoiler

I'll keep the GFM link up for a while longer and make another donation next Friday if anything new comes in.

                    Thanks again!

Granted I’ve been a ghost around OS for the last few years but I didn’t expect to see this. I always joked with him about his total number of posts and when I saw he hadn’t tweeted in awhile I came here to see if he had gotten a new job or something.

I’ll never forget he sent me his resume way back in 2010 to be an intern with the Tennessee Smokies since I was an intern there as well. He wanted to intern during Starlin Castro’s AA season.

Man this sucks. I may go buy a Corey Patterson rookie card in his honor.

Thanks to everyone that contributed, not only to the GoFundMe, but for taking a moment to remember Mo, by responding in this thread.

Purposely have stayed away from this thread just from the shock of his passing and the sadness of it...I still can't believe it.

Mo was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed every interaction we ever had...a lot of things won't be the same without him.

I went ahead and closed the GoFundMe since we haven't gotten anything in for 6 days. I didn't take a screenshot of the final amount, but the total donated to the Community Center is $1,618.23.

If you missed contributing through the GFM and still want to make a donation, you can do it directly at https://spanishcenter.org/ If you do, be sure make a note that it is in memory of Mo.
