On the topic of sugary snacks. Decided to get this today:




Haven't had Whoppers in ages. I've had Malteasers which I think are same thing anyways, but Whopper brand specifically it has been awhile. Cashier gave me a weird/silent look when seeing me buy it lol. Don't judge me.

I would eat that whole bag in an evening of watching television. Or sitting on the back deck. Or just while doing anything.

I'm trying not to eat a whole bag at once lol. I bought 2, but I usually just pour a bowl and put the bag away so I don't take more. Its worth it later on when I realize I still have enough left in the bag to have it a few more times.

When I was a kid my grandma always had a dish of Whoppers set out, I didn't really prefer them, but when you're a kid, candy is candy

Speaking of grandma candy, my grandma once pranked me when I asked for something other than Whoppers, I wanted M&Ms. So grandma took one of the old style candy droppers (no idea what they're actually called, I'm talking the ones with a push knob to drop the candy and then you pull it back to release it to your hand), she had a jammed one, filled it with M&Ms and said "have at it"

Of course everyone laughed at my futile attempts to draw candy from the jammed machine

But being the kind and loving grandma she was she eventually turned it upside down, unscrewed the jar, and gave me the whole damn thing

I was today year's old before I realized they had an actual name other than "old folks candy"

In fact, I've never actually seen them in a store. I just thought you learned how to conjure them when you turn 60.

You could always count on my grandpa having some combination of these in his pocket when I was a kid....

That's the only one I remember.


All the other ones people posting above, I remember getting too, but they were more given out at school by teachers as little treats for random in class stuff (like "who can answer this question? Winner gets a lollipop" or something like that). I also used to get free candies at the car wash when I was little lol. Back then they didn't have machines (lol,makes it sound like a long time ago), so there was just an old guy there who owned the car wash who was really only there to exchange money if people needed(or had few items selling, like a convenient store). I got 1 free candy each time my parents had to exchange money.

It's way better than I remember it. Better than malteasers! Light,crunchy,loaded with sugar.

Same here, I think I tried them once and didn't like them so never cared to try them again. I've never liked any chewy or hard candy though, just chocolate.
