    Dang that sucks blzer.

Did you sell some stock just prior to buying all those gme shares?

Kind of crazy that the brokers don't have a system in place to prevent that.

      Re: OS stock investing thread

      Hey guys,

Please keep in mind that this site isn't a place to solicit or offer advice on stocks, trades, etc.

Even if you're licensed to give such advice, please keep it to PM or elsewhere.

(I know it seems silly, but we can't risk someone coming back to OS and saying they lost x amount of dollars due to advice given on OS - not a lot different than the reason we don't allow selling/trading of games)

To be clear, most of the thread has been great. Continue to talk about your experience. THe highs, the lows (pun intended) but we just can't offer or ask for advice here.

Thanks and PM me with any questions.

I bought the GME shares, but knowing there would be more dips and knowing I wasn't going to be able to get in on daytrading much this week, I wanted to guarantee a minor profit from those and purchase on the next dip. I must've been "borrowing money" in the process of that trade, though.

I guess it's all good and fine, but GME is hitting some lows right now that I'd love to purchase, and I can't miss the squeeze when it happens! Selfishly, I really hope it doesn't happen tomorrow or Wednesday. I can wait it out besides those times, haha.

I bought 2 shares of GME last wed @315 mostly for the lols. I kept thinking that there is no way this continues, but it just kept going. So I bought, and then of course things start going down hill after that.

Today GME dipped below 100 for most of the day. I decided to lower my cost basis and bought 5 more at 95 reducing. Things could still go sideways, but I'm still hoping to come away in the black. At least now I don't need a major recovery to break even.

It's all relative, so I'm not going to say that $630 isn't a lot of money if you lose it... but at this point with the possibility of gains, I just don't think it's worth selling. Best to hold, because selling it means you already lost like $450 of it. But if a squeeze happens, hey there's something!

I bought many shares at 90 today from a brokerage account, because I don't have any settled cash in my Roth IRA yet. I'm just going to hold, even if it hits $1.

Yeah I agree. Most of my account was tied up in index funds that I couldn't quickly liquidate and other stocks that I didn't want to get out of. I just took whatever I had left and threw it in at 95.

I transfered some more money into my brokerage account today that should be there in the morning. If the price is still low tomorrow then I will be buying as much as I can.

I was hoping for a lower price on gme so I didn't pull the trigger there.

I did see that one of my favorite companies, as a customer, has an earnings call next week and bought 150 @ $40 in corsair.

I was up early in the morning during pre-market on AMC and tried to hit at its low below $7.00, but I guess that was only when the Europe market was open? So I went to bed. Ended up having to buy about 25% above that.

Corsair was looking like a great play when I bought in last week. They just had their earnings call and I was up about 15% this morning at open. They beat their forecast by 15% and yet the price has fallen to just 6% gains for me.

Hoping this is just a case of people selling the news and it will rebound down the line.

Yup. I'm still holding that and AMC. I could sell right now and make $100,000 profit (though it includes my brokerage account which would tax a percentage of that), but I'm not even close to selling. I am aiming big. If this is once-in-a-lifetime, I'm going to try and avoid missing out.

I just wish I could buy more. I'll have to wait a couple of days for cash to settle before I make a decision on that, but what's likely to happen is I'll probably sell GameStop at some high point and put it all into AMC (where I currently have most of it).

Yea it’s great to see AMC up so much I’m now back to just $2 below when I bought it at the peak. Apparently Cramer said to hold on to it on his show.

I went in with 2,500 more AMC shares pre-market @ $10.00. It keeps bouncing off of that bottom, and I feel like the last time it did I partially caused it, haha. I know it can dip for a lot of other reasons especially when the market opens, but it was a straight-up FOMO strategy. I'd rather have it in there than not, because I think that amount can offset any capital gains short-term taxing (since it's from my brokerage) from my previous value.

Once again though, not selling for a long time, especially not in the next two days since that cash won't settle will Monday! A lot of calls expire on Friday, and if we're over $10 tomorrow we'll see a massive Monday shoot-up (gamma squeeze). Good time for me to hold, otherwise I might've tried to dip into GameStop with that money. GME is still the one I am likely to sell off much earlier, especially if I can put it into AMC at a cheapish price as I said earlier.

Paper hands here. Was able to get out of GME today at a very slight profit.

Plan on holding amc for a long time. I wanted to buy more a week ago, but I felt like the price was going to drop a bit more.

It might drop even more after the earnings report today. Or it may rise. Whatever it is, people will react. If it closes above $11 or $12 after Friday though, we could cause a gamma squeeze by Monday.

If GME happened to hit $800 by close on Friday, it would be the catalyst for the mother of all short squeezes. That's pretty much impossibly unlikely though, haha. We would need Keith Gill to spark a social media rave about it, and institutions to buy in big with everyone holding and no one shorting.
