Actually the bill to keep daylight saving time permanent passed the senate today.

I don't think it will get through the house though but either way it clearly isn't just talk.

      Probably won't go through.

Too bad, because I believe the government here already said they'll do it IF NY does as well, but I feel like that's a cop out answer because let's face it, if NY does it, everyone basically has to.

I'd prefer the opposite and not move the clocks forward.

Which one are they gonna stick with?

What clocks are like in the fall or the spring?

For me, peak summer is sunrise around 540am and sunset 9pm. Peak winter is sunrise 740am and sunset 440pm.

So winter time in peak summer means sunrise 440am and sunset 8pm? Or summer time in peak winter means sunrise 840am and sunset 540pm.

I don't know which I'd prefer. Before 5am sunrise in summer or almost 9am sunrise in winter?

I might lean towards 5am in summer just because I'm sleeping anyways so I don't care, although I'd hate the daylight hours being wasted on hours I'm sleeping.

Sunrises that happen after 8am will never pass for child safety (among many other reasons) which is why it will never happen.

I like the time changes. Well, not the actual day of the change, but the long summer days and short winter days. It helps bolster the seasonal feelings.

If I had a choice to keep long term I'd want to day I'd keep this one, but it would be awfully dark awfully late in the morning in December.

Question: why is that a product on Amazon can have a 4 1/2 star average review, but the top reviews that appear on the page are 1 or 2 star negative reviews? I swear I see that all the time.

Reviews get voted on by helpfulness. It's good to read those reviews to see what happened in their particular instance, especially if it's voted on as being so helpful for others.

I actually have a tendency of only reading bad product reviews. I go straight to the 1's to see what's what.

I love when someone leaves a one-star review like "when I got mine, it was already broken!". Like, alright Nancy, it happens, just send it back.

As long as it doesn't sound like the rantings of an insane person, or someone who is mad because they don't read instructions, I'm good with them. I can appreciate anything that will plant a seed of doubt when it comes to something that I probably don't need to buy anyway lol.

There's also the people that give 1's because they got their item late. That's fine, but that's a rating for the seller, not the product. And even then it depends on how late it got to you.

Imo, 1s and 5s are pointless. People often say read the middle ratings, 3 especially because they're more honest.

If you love something (or get bribed) you're giving it a 5. You hate something, it's a 1. And people who post reviews usually have extreme views one way or the other.

Most helpful review isn't usually the best judge either. If someone hated something, they'll go out of their way to like a negative review. And if someone loved something or bribed to like it, they'll upvote a positive review.

The worst are the reviews that are pointless.

"I only tried it once, but its great and I love it. 5 stars."

                            "Wrong item sent, 1 star."

                            Or the Q&As.

                            "Does it come with __?"

"I'm not sure, I haven't opened mine yet."
