For anyone who remembers Stump the Schwab on ESPN about 20 years ago (that and BDSSP were 2 of my fave sports shows to watch), "The Schwab" Howie Schwab passed away this morning at the age of 63.

Crazy thing is the announcement came a few hours ago (around 10am ET), but as of 9 hours ago (4am ET) he was still replying to comments on social media. So it really was a sudden "die in his sleep" thing.

Wow! He was only 63? He was old when I watched that like 30 years ago, now I'm seeing the show debuted 20 years ago and that's even more stunning, I figured that tracked back to the 90s

This is what I miss. A reboot of sorts with guys like Cam Newton, Shannon Sharpe, Pat McAffee, Stephen A., Jalen Rose, not necessarily just these guys, or even these, but similar personalities gathered in a huge group would be ten times better than shows like Around the Horn or PTI for instance. Got to give the people what they want, the best damn sports show, period.

They couldn't afford those guys. Well, maybe Cam and Jalen. But those 2 are lame.

Technology always surprises me.

Was looking at flash drive prices recently and saw I could get a 64gb drive for under $10, and a 256gb one for under $20!

I remember "back in the day" seeing a huge sale on flash drives and getting a 4GB one for $20! Obviously back then 4GB was huge. Thinking of having a drive that could hold a couple of mp4 movies and connect to a tv or gaming console seemed like the coolest thing ever.

Now, 64gb seems like nothing at times, but those amounts are still useful for backing up lots of files. How many years before 256gb becomes a cheap under $10 thing too.

Don't know how many people here know of him but Canadian sportscaster Darren Dutchyshen passed away at the age of 57 (due to cancer).

You might have seen him sometimes since ESPN 2 or whatever channel it is does sometimes show Canadian broadcasts and CFL coverage which he was also part of.

Don't know what the US equivalent would be (he's been around as long as someone like Rece Davis, John Buccigross and others if we're comparing tenure), but he's been the main guy on Sportscentre for 25+ years.
