Yeah, I feel like they should be out there in post-apocalyptic (sic?) wasteland hunting mutated 3 headed zombie deer. And, if I live to see that wasteland wonderland, I wouldnt want to just "survive" with only canned food. That would be as bad in my book as eating McDonalds 3 meals a day 7 days a week.

Looking for something that may or may not exist. Looking for a number generator that isn't just going to parse out random numbers. BasicallyI have 10 numbers to generate, but I don't want each of them to generator 10% of the time. I want to set the percentage myself what each one will generate. Like, 1 of the 10 might only generate say, 1% of the time, another might generate say, 25% of the time. But I want to dictate those percentages exactingly. I've looked at a ton of random generators today but I haven't stumbled on to one that suits my needs. I don't even know if what I want exists, since I'm trying to ''weight'' the randomness. Any help appreciated and thank-you.

Edit - Alright, Wheel Decide turned out suit my needs perfectly. I had glossed over it this morning, but looking into it deeper worked. Thanks again any way.

I wonder if ChatGPT could've done exactly that given your prompt.

Otherwise, the way I would do it is create an Excel spreadsheet and randomly generate a number x between 0 and 1, and then just say (not that this is Excel coding, but just the concept):

Code:

if 0 < x ≤ 0.1, then "1"
if 0.1 < x ≤ 0.35, then "2"
if 0.35 < x ≤ 0.4, then "3"
...

Et cetera. Wheel Decide (and ChatGPT) would probably do something similar in their coding.

I'm sure review services won't want it, but would be nice if you could view average ratings since a certain time.

For instance, you might see something rated 4.5 stars, but the place has been reviewed for the last 10 years. What's the average rating of that same place the last 2 years for instance? Maybe it's 4.8 stars, maybe it's 3.5 stars. Someone's 5 star ratings 5 years ago isn't reflective of that place today/recently.

Same with items on amazon. Some products have changed over time, but they still use the same product page on Amazon, so reviews you might see could all be from the old version of that product.

You can view most recent, but I wanted something more like viewing the average of the last X months or whatever.

Steam is the only platform I can think of that has a recent reviews score.

Amazon reviews are all kinds of messed up, especially for movies/physical media. That still have reviews for special edition DVD releases from 15 years ago counted as reviews for when you are just streaming it. Any mainstream movie that people remember from the 1980s-1990s will have a 4.5-5.0 review, even ones that are trash.

Most amazon reviews are just 4 stars anyways. I have rarely if ever seen a sub 3.9 rating even for an item with at least a few hundred reviews (obviously most are fake).

But there's stuff that does change over time. Something as simple as Shampoo. They might have changed the ingredients over time. The reviews in 2017 aren't reflective of the formula used since 2023 which might make it smell different.

Some here may not know, but I'm a softball coach (have been for 20+ years).

Anyway, I move around a big bulletin board for lineups, scouting reports, plays, etc. but among the things are signs. While I was writing one of my lineups this morning, a fly landed on my signs sheet.

See if you can find the humor in this picture, and why I had to take it.

That's a new school fly, he knows you don't waste an out bunting. You try for a hit and if you fail, a sac fly is still as good as a sacrifice bunt. (By the way, I do believe there are still good times to bunt. That's the flies thinking, not mine lol)
