Actually, we should do a broccoli vs. cauliflower poll. Broccoli by a landslide. I only eat them steamed, though. I don't do any fancy flavorings or anything like that, which could maybe put some cauliflower recipes over broccoli in some capacity.
      Broccoflower

I love vegetables raw or steamed, dip or no dip.

tomato is a berry, berries are fruit. tomato is fruit. zucchini & squash are also fruit

broccoli w/cheese is excellent but I'd never eat it w/o cheese. I've never tasted cauliflower and I never will, cheese or no cheese. now that (cauliflower) is a vile weed
I don't like most fruit because either the taste is overwhelming or the texture is unpleasant to me. I mainly eat apples and bananasa (And zucchini and sometimes squash if its included with mixed vegetables that I get with a meal at a restaurant if they are in fact fruit)

Roasted broccoli. Roasted any vegetable is good, way more flavorful than the steamed or boiled trash of yesteryear.

Vegetables got a bad rep because people prepared them terribly. Give it the same love as the main dish.

To offer a counter opinion, I would toss the broccoli. In my work at hunger agencies I had to get food safety certified and they beat the concept of the "temperature danger zone" into your head, which is the range above fridge temp and below heated temp (~140F) and time in that range should be limited to under four hours, ideally two. Bacterial growth thrives in that range. The time limit doesn't reset either after reheating or recooling.

Obvious exceptions are things that are safe at room temp or don't need to be prepared, but raw meat, peeled fruit, cut and cooked vegetables, sauces, leftovers, etc all apply.

That makes sense. The aura of the fresh broccoli will transfer to the older broccoli and render it fresh as well.

Yeah, this was instructed pretty well at a couple restaurants I worked at. Surprisingly well for chain places that have a revolving door of employees.

I’ve always erred on the safe side, but I think with most there’s levels to the danger. The more the temp creeps up/down, the length of time, etc. People’s safe food practices are pretty abhorrent or based on “how we always did it.”

In what world cutting a vegetable (tomato, onion) and leaving it on the counter for next time use was ever acceptable is beyond me. Like, common sense...

Well, of course restaurants need to do this. There are liability contentions up the wazoo if they don't.

Anyway, I intended on eating my leftovers, but let's just say I told somebody else who is with me during the quarantine period and they threw it out without my knowledge. Maybe it's better in the long run, but still... I decide which food of mine I bought and prepared that I throw out, not them.

Heh, that’s what I was on to work this AM. I gotta credit the guy ahead of me for making a quick but controlled move, and I pretty much just followed his lead to safety. Little rumble strip action, just for good measure.

Nothing like kicking up a little shoulder/rumble strip dust on the daily commute!

From DC to NY, 95 just gets increasingly likely that something like this is going to happen, culminating in Jersey (of course)....
