    Re: Off-Topic

there was one of these traffic gaffes this morning near my apartment that was so bad it took out the whole intersection

I'm waiting for the details and hopefully everyone is ok.

It was only 1/2 mile from my apartment and I'm glad the power didn't go out since it was crazy cold this morning

I drove that way on the way to the store, and it wasn't just that the signal was powered down, it was completely gone, the power poles were gone, there were police and snow plows blocking paths and directing people, and this was several hours after the accident happened.

It was weird driving up to the intersection and seeing the complete absence of traffic lights.

none of the updates I've seen have mentioned anything about the severity of injuries of people involved, makes me think everyone is good to go, so my next thought is, how long does it take to set back up an intersection that was completely wiped out?

      Re: Off-Topic

For once I find a funny commercial moment that wasn't some over the top infomercial.

There was some Hyundai commercial where a mom is driving her son (I'm guessing 4-6 years old maybe?) and he has to go to the bathroom. So she's driving fast (and safely, thanks to her sporty new car) to try getting to the nearest store.

The original, which aired on TV for who knows how long, the commercial ended with the kid peeing his pants and the mom now having to take him inside the store anyways to get cleaned up. People made fun of the commercial for that.

Recently though they edited that ending out of the commercial so it just looks like she took him into the store BEFORE it was too late. It's funny how that even made it into the commercial.

I guess that's what I get for making fun of car commercials for being the exact same thing every single year. I dont think anyone's takeaway from the commercial had anything to do with the car, any feature, the terrains it could drive through. All people noticed was that this is the car commercial where a kid peed his pants, but got "cleaned up"(pun intended) in the edit.

There's enough problems with distracted driving. Imagine speeding down the freeway and trying to sync your music, reply to a text, and wipe at the same time.

Scary thing to realize waking up this morning. Someones been breaking into my shed.

Nothings taken, but it happened multiple times (happened yesterday too, but I didn't know if maybe I just left it unlocked by accident, so this time I know for sure I didnt leave it the way I found it today). Somehow security camera didn't catch anything (its not pointed towards the backyard, so whoever got in probably hopped the fence in the yard since the camera would've picked up something if they came off the streets).

Time to buy all new locks I guess.

Puzzles me why they'd do it back to back nights but not take anything either time. And my neighbours leave all their stuff in their yard such as all their kids toys, but that didnt seem to be stolen, so who knows what this person is looking for.

I was thinking maybe someone got in just to sleep there, but the inside is fairly small, and theres so many things in it (all metal and plastic garden/lawn stuff for the summer) where you can't even walk inside without emptying half of it. So if something like a homeless person was sleeping there, not sure how they'd even manage to walk or lay down in there with so many metal wires and rods and other things in there.

There wasn't even any signs inside of anyone or anything being there. If they were, you'd probably see things moved around, something stepped on, but I didnt.

And whoever got in just left the door mostly open when leaving both times, so if you were breaking in, I'd imagine you'd try making it look like nobody got in.

I changed the lock so we'll see. I've been holding out on getting a new camera since the one I wanted which comes with better night vision is supposed to be releasing soon, but now obviously I cant wait for the new and improved version.

Only positive is nothing was stolen, and nothing inside there is valuable anyways. I checked police reports in the area and nothing has been reported, so this isn't part of a string of break ins.

Not really that close. I changed locks and it seemed to do the trick (at least for this night), so hopefully this is the end of that.

back when I was 14 years old, I had about 6 other same-age neighborhood kids, we spent the next couple years camping out in one of the kids back yard every weekend (he lived closest to Lake Logan Martin, right on it). eventually we went roaming the neighborhood searching for the perfect shed for warmth during the colder months. after breaking in to about 20 sheds we finally found the one best suited to our needs. there was even a local car repair shop and we would go in there sometimes to listen to music on car radios. we never took anything from any of those sheds, we was just being teenangels. I figure if you ask around with neighbors, some will find the same thing with their sheds.
