My buddy told me that his old high school is opening up a ESports team and he’s planning to coach the Rocket League team. This blow my mind lol.

Crazy how far we’ve come in gaming. I guess we can consider ourselves pioneers.

      So much for winning.

It has to be some kind of bad luck to not only not win, but also not even get a single number right either.

I think as long as people view playing the lottery almost like a fun little hobby, then it's OK. I look at gambling the same way. If you go to Vegas and say you're going to spend $200, even if you lose it all, you can look at it as the price of the experience.

I was in Vegas for the first time in April, but I didn't gamble at all. I'm too self conscious to sit down at a blackjack or poker table and worry that there are all these little formalities I don't know about. For example, until I read about it, I wouldn't have known to tip the dealer every now and again when you win. I would've looked like a jerk had I not learned that!

I don’t sit at tables either because I don’t know the etiquette, written or unwritten. Plus, pressure of other (probably more seasoned) players to do this or that when I’m just there for fun — I’ve got basic strategy down but I don’t know all the rules and nuances. I’m perfectly happy with electronic blackjack anyway.

I went to a casino once, apparently it was one of the biggest ones in the country. I don't see what's so special about it.

I just went to make small bets on the machines for fun and won enough money to pay for lunch and then that was it.

Funny story. I went to sit down near one of the machines near the washroom as I was waiting for someone, that whole row of machines near the washroom was empty (it was fairly early in the morning after breakfast) and after they came out and we left, I noticed the second I got up that someone quickly went to the machine I was sitting at and started playing.

I know why they did it (figuring I left because I lost on it, so a new player coming in might have better odds now that the loser plays happened recently), but I found it funny because I didn't even play on that machine, I simply sat there waiting for someone.

incidentally, since Alabama is one of 4 or 5 states to not have a lottery, I drive 65 miles over to Georgia once a month to get a month's worth of drawings for myself and 9 other co-workers. we all go $20 in which is like $4 a week for all of us. the odds of winning maybe almost non-existant but those odds are a lot better than winning by not playing lol

I know people say money changes you, but I feel like I'd just live a similar life, except with more money and more free time/no job.

I'm still not gonna go and dine out at some restaurant where a starter salad/soup starts at $30, or (when able to) fly around the world.

The most expensive purchase minus a house would probably be season tickets.
As my mind unrealistically tells me that I could land on $100 million from stocks, I keep going back to: "What would I purchase with that if I wanted to?"

My first thought went to funding a movie or video game title, but even then I'd have to roll in a lot more cash, so maybe I'd have to let it sit and grow for a decade before that haha.

My next thought was build the finest and largest softball complex out here in California. I think this would also cost more than that if I truly wanted it to be how I'd envision it. Basically, take every college softball stadium you see, turn them as professionally as you can (even with the scoreboards), and multiply that by like 16.

Yeah, I think I'd need to be a billionaire for these kinds of things haha.

Strangely my first thought wasn't ever "Buy a hundred million dollar home in Malibu."

If I win something like 50m,I don't even think I'd buy a mansion or anything.

Like an expensive car, the second something goes wrong, it'll be much more expensive and specific (as in the part required) to fix.

Although house prices are insane nowadays. 1 million today doesn't buy you a fancy house, it buys you some 2 or 3 bedroom house in the outskirts of the city.

                  Re: Off-Topic

Had my first road rage moment today, and I was the rager, so it leads me to a driving etiquette question, because maybe I was wrong.

Exiting the store, turning right onto a major road, and the guy to my left, obviously turning left. There is no traffic light. Usually people turning left use the optional exit with the traffic light.

I pull up a little ahead of him so I can see the traffic flow to my left. It's pretty packed, gonna be a minute until it's clear for my right turn.

This guy then creeps up a little to block my view of traffic to the left. So I creep up a little so I can see. Doesn't the right turning driver have precedence in this situation?

So this guy creeps up a little more to block my view again. I'm like dude, stop creeping up, I can't see when you do that. So again, I creep forward a little so I can see the traffic, and this mother****er creeps up again to block my view again!

I start getting angry, I'm flailing my arms like "what are you doing, dude?" I can't see! Getting a bit vehement

again I pull ahead of him so I can see, and again he crept ahead so I can't see, and I lost it, I started shouting "stop ****ing creeping up! I can't ****ing see!" and my window was up, but the passengers in his car had windows down, they must've heard me, and I felt like a dick because they started waiving to me like it was clear to go from their perspective, and then I went.

it worked out in the end, but it got to the point where our cars were damn near impeding the adjacent traffic because we'd pulled up so far.

Aside from my anger outburst, was I wrong? Why did the left turning jackhole keep creeping up to block my view of traffic?

                    Re: Off-Topic

I'd imagine you had right of way since you're turning right, therefore you only need to wait on one lane of traffic while that person needs lanes going both directions to be clear.

But I'm guessing they were creeping up because they couldn't see the left lane with you being ahead of them.

These vaccine bookings are black Friday on steroids.

Site didnt go live until around 8am, but from 7am I was refreshing the page every minute until I got in.

Was helping other family members book too and got everyone some nice dates as well, sadly not together, but still better than the alternative.

Baseball is a game of inches, this was a game of seconds. You don't have time to think, once you're at the front of the online waiting line, you have to react instantly or else dates will go faster than you blink.

Heard mixed reviews on the 2nd dose. Some say the side effects were about the same as the first. Others said theirs lasted about 2 or so days and it was much more serious. Hopefully mine isn't the latter. The expected arm tightness would be fine, hopefully no fever/headache and so on.
