Maybe it's people who were most nervous about the potential side effects but got the first one anyway, and have decided that whatever protection the first one offers is enough. People always say the second one is the one that makes you feel lousy. I got the single-shot J&J one so I skipped that decision.

I literally went shopping immediately after each shot I got, I felt fine the entire time.
Some did have some bad side effects, but then my theory (backed by no scientific data) is that those who did show side effects were probably people who do get sick with the common cold or other things more often than the ones who didn't really have side effects.
Given that everyone's info is on file, I wonder if anyone who only had 1 dose has ever been contacted and asked why they aren't getting their 2nd dose. Even an anonymous survey could help them figure out how to reach those people better.Comment

That sucks. Everyone has those days I guess, just get through it and figure it's got to get better (since you can't fall from the floor!).Comment

But seriously, I wouldn't be as upset at the TV part of this if prices didn't get jacked up this year to the point where we might not see 2019-2020 level pricing until at least 2023. BF prices will basically be regular prices back in January.Comment

Everything is just costing way too much recently.Comment

Yeah, it sucks extra badly because really big screen sizes were just starting to come down in price in recent years to where buying one wasn't a crazy proposition. And now everything is going backwards, even with older technologies.

Although prices still are better than they used to be. I paid over $1000 for my 55 inch LED TV a decade ago, and that was the sale price (a price that it took years before TVs like that were under $1000).
Probably don't need a 4KTV right now, but I get a few 4K sports channels for free with my cable plan, so it feels wasted in a way.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
I wanted to get a PS5 as well, but seems like the games I would play, the features I like the most are no longer in it. Roster sharing in sports games was such a big thing for me. I've been customizing rosters and getting other users rosters for as long as I can remember. That was even a reason I first joined OS.Last edited by Majingir; 09-08-2021, 12:13 AM.Comment

It seems like with each successive generation of consoles, more and more of what I used to like about gaming is being left out/abandoned. I guess I'm just getting old, but I have no desire whatsoever to get a next-gen console at this point.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
There were way more/more popular features on a number of past games in diff eras, and they had much less to work with.
Sports games are realizing that fans know their annual releases are nothing more than roster updates, so now they're doing what they can to make people get the next game. Who would bother buying another sports game if the one you have has updated rosters for the next 5 years, and music you can input into the game.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
I really wish sports games could release every two years, and they ensure a nice roster update for the year in between (perhaps a new stadium if needed).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Off-Topic
Updated stats to reflect the prior season, updated schedule in season mode, adding in the new players portraits or faces, new commentary/audio, new logo or jerseys, etc.
So they'd still make money in between, but obviously the thing that matters for them is overall game sales, so we'll probably never see it.
Let's say 500k people on average buy a game at $80. That's $40m, 80m over 2 years. Now let's say there's every other year releases, so more people (700k on average) buys the game, at the increase of $100. That's 70m, but now you have the unknown amount in the non release year, where you hope you can get enough people buying the major DLCs to make up the money and then some.
Then again, I know nothing about video game developing or if anything like that is even possible.Last edited by Majingir; 09-09-2021, 11:33 AM.Comment
