Spoiler alert, I know that. But people that have jobs where they are working directly with the public need to put a fake smile on. If they cannot, they should be fired.

I don't work in the same field but in a field close enough to know that we have a lot of people employed who don't give a **** about the people they are supposed to be helping. They are there for a paycheck and nothing more.

In the end, isn't that most jobs? People work for whoever is willing to pay them the most for whatever job they apply for, even if they don't love the job.

Money pays the bills more than happiness does.

Best scenario is obviously doing a job you love that also pays enough to keep you happy, but that's obviously not a very common thing for the most part. Nowadays especially I find it more true than ever. Company loyalty means nothing, and employees are more willing to go from company to company as long as they're getting paid more.

Most government agencies and utility companies that serve the public directly would have almost no employees if that were the case. Post office, DMV, etc. It's really the rule and not the exception. Something about "I'm working for the city/state now," comes with this implication of having it easier, and not worrying as much about x y and z.

It is unfortunate. My frustration comes with the fact that someone in this field not caring can result in destroying a family. A kid removed and put into foster care, and parents made to jump through hoops for a minimum of six months to get their kid back. It happens too many times and unfortunately, if they had money, they would most likely get their kid back sooner by hiring their own attorney. But most of these families cannot afford their own attorney, so we are stuck in that loop.

I was sweating watching that. Poor Thomas couldn't land on anything that wouldn't lose him the turn as he watched the other two stumble upon trying to figure out the phrase. But that woman in the middle... oof.

I half-expected her to get the last word right later but then change "in" to "on." That would've been an all-timer.

Even that 3rd time, while he did land on money, he should've just solved. It's a $1000 min anyways, so unless you spin twice, or land on a prize, its not worth it spinning once.

But that would've been an even better fail.

I feel like the casting for these shows is done where the top tier people aren't always cast.

Can't have a show where contestants are easily solving it.

The celeb one is funny though. Some celebs don't even know how to play the game. I get not knowing some of the more complex rules, but the basics should be known.

It's always funny watching where someone spins and then guesses a vowel. Or the bonus round with the whole "RSTLNE" and one of the letters they guess is one of those letters already chosen.

I think you guys are overthinking it.

Isn't the more obvious explanation that she just drew a blank on stage when her first guess of 'hat' was wrong? Guarantee she gets that 9 out of 10 times watching at home. (the leftover 1 to account for the rare times I've actually heard people use the phrase "feather in your hat")

just gonna drop this bomb here and run:
there's a reason you don't see the same contestants on Wheel that you do Jeopardy

                          I keed, I keed
I love Wheel though I'm no Ed Grimley for Sajak. I'm forever and always a Trebek guy
Wheel contestants are ''totally decent, but I must say, give me a break, let's face it, they make me completely mental''

I saw Teri Hatcher on Celebrity WoF last year or the year before, and I'm surprised she new the difference between a vowel and a consonant. maybe she was just having an off-night/day but she definitely reminded me of Farrah Fawcett on Letterman lol

I meant in general, not singling out this one instance.

Feather in your cap isn't a commonly used phrase anymore anyways, but I'm sure people heard of it at least. But probably was just a mental lapse.

Yeah, I would say I have some sympathy for people that really foul it up on national TV, because it's always so easy to get everything when you're on your couch at home, but under the bright lights with an audience and knowing you're on TV, it does make you sweat a bit and can easily scramble some circuits. Even in lower-stakes settings doing public speaking or really doing anything in public, I've had brain lapses that I'm sure left people thinking I'm a total moron even though I don't think I am. Although I suppose it's very possible I could be wrong LOL

Was watching Lethal Weapon 2 the other day (as you do), and there's a scene where they go to a drive-thru Subway for sandwiches, and it made me wonder if those even exist anymore. Movie came out in 1989, so it must have been a thing back then. I wish I had one of those around here. Feels like Subway has gone all in on cheap prices/cheap product, only having 1-2 employees on site 90% of the time, and you can't really do that if you are also running a drive-thru.
