Looking at social media, she was even posting as recently as last week, so it definitely just came out of nowhere. She died in her apartment too so not like she was so sick she had to go to the hospital. Could've just been complications one day and she doesn't wake up the next.

I think I have/had the Harriet the Spy VHS too and she guest starred on a few shows I watched growing up.

I haven't been to a movie theater in around six years. Geez.

Speaking of AI, had a guy in 2022 that was banging his head against the fiberglass partition in the back of my patrol unit, then paused a couple of times and screamed, "IS I ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?!"

I remember it specifically because of the way he worded it. For context, he was high on spice, and this certainly wasn't his first poor decision with narcotics.

Ohhh parts of the job that I do not miss.

Feel like I haven't seen a movie in theaters since Skyfall.

The last time I went was Oppenheimer and that's because I wanted to see it but knew I wouldn't be able to sit through it in my house.

A lot of the movies are unnecessarily long now. With reserved seating you can show up a few minutes late and skip most of the previews to save time but still.. a lot of the movies out now need to be cut short by 20-30 minutes at least.

A few years ago I built a 135" projector screen and mounted a projector. I like the theater experience but it's expensive for a family. There's some good AMC memberships that provide good value for single viewers but for a family it costs a good bit of $$.

The theater I went to growing up and in HS was closed down a long time ago. You have to drive 45-50 minutes to get to one now. I can spend $5-10 renting a movie on Amazon or just streaming something and pop some popcorn at home and still enjoy movies with the projector. Last weekend I sat down with the kids and watched Mrs. Doubtfire

Thought we might have been down for the count there. Hadn't been able to bring up the site since the early morning hours.

Hopefully this fixes tapatalk issues too. I've had so many times I try to post and randomly get errors.

Or try to load part of the forum on it and it just stays in a loop and never loads anything.

Getting them on for the first time and the few days after adjustments are the worst parts. For those, soft foods are your friend, hope you like mashed potatoes.

Outside of that, you’ll be fine. You’ll be surprised how quickly you get back to normal, or at least I was. After a while you just get used to it.

mashed potatoes are delicious, I also recommend cottage cheese, applesauce, and my personal favorite, eggs.

actually right now I don't recommend eggs

This might be the first time change in ages where I didn't hear any sort of talk about wanting to end it.

Ironic given everyone thought this would be one of those executive orders that gets signed off on.

We have about 6 more months so hopefully the US does decide to just keep things the same and we're not changing it again in the fall. Leave daylight savings time permanently. Sure, peak winter in some places might have sunrise being as late as 8:20am (I'm using NY as an example), but it also means the EARLIEST sunset would be 5:28pm.

In a world where 9-5 days are so common, it makes sense to have later sunrises and later sunsets. As for schools, the latest sunrises are around the time they're about to be off for winter break so that's fine.
