Both can be right. Drew is right about the media being ignorant (often intentionally so) and not particularly helpful. The media does not exist to educate, they exist to make money and get people to watch commercials.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
This is absolutely true. We are customers to the media. It's just that it's irresponsible and irrational to contradict what non-ignorant health officials are saying, even if the media is focusing on the aspects that are most sensationalized in order to draw viewers.Comment

I’m all for ripping the media, but the media isn’t telling people to go buy a years supply of toilet paper from what I’ve seen. If people go out and do that that’s on them

He's constantly doing this in other threads where he makes comments to get a reaction/rise out of people.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

So, listen to Dr. Fauci, who is giving his advice to our political leaders that it's going to get worse before it's get's better.
Can't control the people who are hoarding all the toilet paper.
That link is the same crap that is thrown around on FB timelines. No one is stressing here, it's rules and regulations that are being implemented from states and the federal government.
It's just the flu, right?Comment

Couple of interesting things from the WH press briefing today.
Recommending no public gatherings of more than 10 people, for 15 days.
Urging people to stay home and avoid discretionary travel.
This current outbreak could last until July/August (highly paraphrased).Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
The social distancing stuff is actually meant to flatten the spread out longer, so having it extend into summer is not automatically a horrible thing. The alternative is more people get it quckly and health services can't keep up, but the outbreak comes and goes quicker.Comment

Am I the only one who sees the irony in these health experts, politicians and other people all coming up to the podium, surrounded by their peers, speaking infront of the media, and talking about "social distancing", aka keeping 2 meters of space between you and someone else.Comment

Quit overreacting, I type, as I link to a video of a celebrity TV host with no expertise in public health or epidemiology telling us this is overblown.I write things on the Internet.
