Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

Wimbledon tennis grand slam in England has been cancelled.

First time ever outside of War years where they've cancelled.

I just realized that for NBA, this is even more unique. MLB has been through both World Wars, NHL was starting up during first WW but 2nd one impacted them. MLB cancelled 94 season and playoffs due to strike, NHL cancelled 04/05 season due to strike.

For NBA, they weren't around back then for World War, and never had strike which cancelled playoffs, so this is even more unique to the leagues history.

Symptoms still minor at this time.

My Dad left this morning to stay with my uncle until I'm am clear of the virus. After I'm cleared I'll bring in a local cleaning company to deep clean the house. Already contacted them to ask it they will clean a house that has had a quarantined person in it for the virus and they told me to call once I'm clear. I hire them twice a year to spring clean and fall clean my house.

Thoughts are that if symptoms don't worsen in 7-10 days, then its likely they won't. Not sure how accurate that information is, but that is what my primary dr told me, so we'll go with that.

I wonder if they closed the beaches.

          Not surprising info here:

One way Americans are coping with the new coronavirus? Booze. U.S. sales of alcoholic beverages rose 55% in the week ending March 21, according to Nielsen. Spirits such as tequila, gin and pre-mixed cocktails led the way, with sales jumping 75% compared to the same period last year. Wine sales were up 66% while beer sales rose 42%. And online sales far outpaced in-store sales. Nielsen said online alcohol sales were up 243%. Danelle Kosmal, a Nielsen vice president, suspects growth rates peaked that week as people loaded up their pantries before state stay-athome orders went into effect.

So, the mother of our daughter's friend contacted us last evening. The hospital would not allow family members in, but they did, at the end, allow one person at a time to say goodbye. Her mother said her daughter suffered immensely and doesn't wish it upon anyone, young or old, healthy or underlying conditions.

CB, I'm glad your not exhibiting any major symptoms. As for myself I have also been symptom free since March 20th when I was told I possibly could have been exposed at work TG!

Beaches here where open until last week or so. Amazed they didn't do it sooner, even our mayor dragged his feet. Will do a good grocery shopping before it kicks in though.

Glad to hear it's hitting you mildly (and also that you were able to get tested in the 1st place). A lot of anecdotal accounts are saying days 7-8 in are where things really get serious (or don't).

I am not a medical doctor, but if you start coughing profusely like you have a chronic lung disease (w/no phlegm) or if you feel like you're burning up, then it's time to book it to your local hospital.

                  Get well soon!

Yeah, they just closed the nearest beaches to me (Galveston) a few days ago. [emoji849]

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.

Going to tell you guys some scary news that might be coming to your state soon. My governor late last night told all big box stores in the state they can only sell essential items ONLY, Meaning food and drink only. Boy I tell you what, they had yellow tape every where throughout these big box stores blocking all the departments that didn't sell food.

Can't buy movies, video games, laptops, computers, tablets, TVs, clothes, fabric, fishing poles, fishing license, grills, power tools, school supplies, toys, paint, fans, air conditioners, none of that anymore. But of course people did what they wanted to do, went under the tapes all over and put stuff in their carts anyway. As soon as they went to the registers they were denied. Cops were in these stores because yeah people got violent. It was like an army of mega Karens.

So if your governor issue the same order in your state, I am just letting you know they are not F'ng around when they say essential items only. Today was the first day of this order. Nobody knows how many weeks it is going to be like this in this state either, but the covid spreading like wildfire up here and they trying to stop people from coming to the stores everyday buying random crap that isn't food.

Walmart even went as far as shutting off the water fountains with sign posted saying due to covid, water is turned off.

Frustrating part is seeing the amount of people not listening and going out of their way to disobey government and health officials.

They tell people stay home, people don't care.

They even block off parks, put up fences, tape, signs, and what happens? People literally breaking down fences so they can hang out at parks!?

I'm glad that fines are starting to be put in place for the idiots who intentionally disobey the law. Going for a stroll around the neighbourhood for fresh air and exercise is one thing, but what lengths people go to when they know why they aren't allowed at parks, that's ridiculous.

Most places are still offering curb side pickup. Our Best Buy closed to the public awhile ago but you can still buy things online if necessary and pick them up.

I checked the release for Vermont and they are still offering curb side pick up for those things so you can still get what you need, just not be able to get them day of. (That's obviously dependent on the seller but workers don't want to lose shifts and businesses don't want to lose business)

Basically if you are clearing your throat or coughing something up, it's not it. People may think you are sick though, so it may be hard at work. If they are offering paid time off, check with them to be double sure before coming in.

I guess now I have a new appreciation for how minor this sinus crap is though.
See when i was younger my allergies where worse to the point where it almost felt like having a cold 24/7 365 days of the year. When i got older they got better but i still had a cough like all the time in till i started getting allergies shoots years ago. Before that i took all kinds of different medication and nothing ever helped.
