Interesting, the video I saw had a doctor or vet state the the two cats they found that had the virus were both wild cats and surmised they received it from other humans. In the same video, Dr. Fauci is stating that there isn't evidence supporting a transmission from a pet to human. He also said it's not impossible.

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
This is all true. You can be the slowest most careful driver in the world and some idiot who is playing on their cell phone can run through a red light and blindside you. This is similar. You can be the most careful person - social distancing, constantly washing your hands, not touching your face, getting your groceries delivered, etc. One slip up from touching something that an asymptomatic person touched and you could be infected.I'm not a threat to your life. Man, that's extreme. Everytime we get in a car, fly in a plane, go into a public place - and many more - we're all taking our lives into our hands. You're reading way too much into this, friend. I simply asked a question - you have labeled me as "anti" - and WHERE did you actually read that in my post??? I simply asked a question, and an answer was provided. Keyboard warrior... Geesh.
Edit: To clarify - I would never want to have a rushed and unproven vaccination. THAT was the context of my comment. I have 4 kids and all were vaccinated. But this is being pushed too quickly, in my opinion.
This all comes down to the fact that you can't rely on other people, you just have to worry about yourself and be as careful as you can. There was a Facebook post going around a few weeks ago about drive-thru workers wearing gloves and masks. There were loads of posts saying stuff like "well if they aren't changing their gloves after every customer then they're not really helping". What the people posting that don't get is the workers aren't wearing the gloves to protect the customers as much as the wearing them to protect themselves. The customers should be wearing their own mask and gloves and still, they're at risk because they're ingesting foods prepared by other people who could be carriers. Like MK said everything comes with a risk and it's up to you to determine if it's worth it.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Also floating around facebook, if everyone does wear a mask(won't happen), there is 1.5% probably of transmitting the virus, if you don't wear one and someone that has the virus wears one, 5% probability, if you don't wear a mask, 70% probability of transmitting the virus.This is all true. I'll go back to what my dad taught me and what I taught our kids about first hitting the road with a drivers license, you can control how you drive your car, but you can't control how the other drivers(we didn't use that word lol)are controlling their car.
The risk are very minimized in both situations.
Study done on wearing mask vs not wearing a mask to back up the FB post:

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Governor Murphy of NJ has now extended indefinitely our Stay at Home order for all nonessential workers. We were hoping for May 15. We've lost over 6000 souls and pretty much considered the epicenter at the moment. Man, what a ****ty year its been.
The phased approach to safely restarting the state’s economy, dubbed "The Road Back," includes guiding principles to ensure public health is not put at risk:
Sustained reduction in new cases;
Expanded testing;
Implement robust contact tracing;
Securing safe places for isolation;
Responsible economic restart ensuring resiliency.
The first four steps must be achieved in order to move on to restarting the economy, which will then ensure the state’s resiliency, according to Murphy.

So an extra 7500 deaths. Seems like a fair trade off to ensure that our investment portfolios don't continue to take a hit. [emoji57]Comment

There are going to be deaths. I mean, we can avoid a ton of deaths if we just made shelter at home a permanent thing even after the virus is long gone. Would be fewer auto accidents, flu deaths, etc.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
Cmon man, I don’t think any of us want to go down this road again. We all understand that there is trade offs to everything.
There is a far greater understanding of those topics and what can be done to reasonably limit impact ( speed limits, traffic lights, insurance requirements, licenses, financial or jail punishments, flu shots, etc).
That’s why this continues to be compared to the 1919 pandemic. There is information coming out daily that continues to radically change the way that people are thinking and what can be done to positively impact it."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
It’s gonna be a lot worse than that. The CDC is upping their projections, too.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/28/healt...ons/index.html
Nationally, as of Tuesday morning, the model predicts that there will be a total of 153,373 mean deaths in the United States, with a predicted range of 87,409 deaths to 302,324 deaths.
Out of the 12 states in the Southeast United States, the model's projections for Georgia are the only that assume statewide social distancing will be relaxed starting on May 1, to reflect Gov. Brian Kemp's orders to reopen the state. The projections for the state of Georgia show the highest uptick in deaths per day will be between May and August for the region.
While the model's assumption for Georgia is that social distancing measures would loosen by May, the model assumes that for every other state reopening will begin in June.
"But we're looking at moving that up because obviously many states now are considering reopening -- but still the issue is that ultimately no one knows what's going to happen," Gu said.
Overall, the model's projections are estimates and predictions that come with caveats, Gu said.
For each state, the projections provide a wide range of how many deaths could happen -- depending on whether people continue social distancing and other possible factors.Comment

Re: CDC Officials Warn of Coronavirus Outbreaks in the United States.
One interesting bit from the numbers coming out of Texas (who ranks 49th in testing in the US), 1/3 of those hospitalized w/ COVID-19 are diabetic.
I'm relatively controlled type-2 (maybe not as controlled as I was a few weeks ago...) but gives me some pause wondering how vulnerable I could be and taking it for granted.
@wfaaizzy
#BREAKING- In Dallas Co.
-135 new positive cases/Most in a single day
-10 new deaths/Most deaths in a single day
-94 deaths total in Dallas Co.
-1/3 of patients hospitalized have diabetes according to
@JudgeClayJ
and says TX ranks 49th in testing per capita
