I think it would be helpful if stores or local governments put out recommendations for WHEN to go to the store. If your name begins with X letter then go X day.

That's what I said earlier. Determine it by birth month.

Mondays are for people born January-March, Thursday are October-December, and Friday-Sunday is anyone.

Just have ID required at the door.

The only problem is the logistics of it all. You're asking individual stores to have to enforce this type of thing. The unfortunate reality is many people don't give a **** about rules. It's that me first selfish mentality. It's just like the hours stores are supposed to be open for only seniors, pregnant women, or compromised immune systems. We tried that at my store and people just didn't care. Then, as employees, you either risk non stop confrontation with these people or let it go. My store manager gave up because it just didn't work. You can only go so far in confronting someone. We can't put our hands on people. So they either listen or they don't. All this **** you see on the news about stores doing all these things to help is bull****. It's all fluff to try to make the companies seem like they care and to put them in a better light. In reality there is no support from upper management and these expectations they put in place are unrealistic to say the least. It's all a **** show to be honest.

What about people who don't have an ID?

But which people don't have ID? Even if you don't drive, don't people have a health card or even just regular ID card?

But like mentioned, people will just act like entitled idiot and not care.

Even here, they're banning people from going to parks. They set up barricades, people literally broke them down or climbed over it. They got stricter yesterday and turned away over 1000 people in the city in a single day.

I'm perfectly ok with them starting to fine people for breaking these laws. No more warnings. If you go into a park that has clearly marked "do not enter" signs and barricades, you deserve what you get.

Here's an extreme example of the kind of confrontation that store employees tasked with enforcing these rules are exposed to: a Walmart near where I live had security people in the parking lot to ensure only one person per vehicule was actually coming into the store so as to limit the amount of people going in.

One of the security guys spotted a couple getting out of their car to get into the store and told them only one person per car can go in. The man got back in his car and ran the security guy over. It's still not clear whether the guy will survive. He's a father of 5 kids. 5 kids who may never see their father again because some douche bag wasn't going to have a Walmart security guy tell him he can't go into the store...

                  1. That Boris Johnson is heading to the ICU is kind of tragic considering he was one of the last world leaders to start taking this pandemic seriously. Anyone remember the UK's initial grand plan for attaining herd immunity?

                  2. I choose to think of all the people out and about not paying attention to anything but themselves as a necessary part of the equation. Whereas everyone getting sick right away is the nightmare scenario for the healthcare system, on the other hand, slow-playing this for 18 months would be pretty painful as well. Not particularly sustainable, imo. I see some of these idiots causing the disease to spread somewhere between NOW and 18 MONTHS from now. Where the healthcare workers are overburdened as little as possible and also whereby this situation is mitigated as soon as possible. I'm choosing to be an optimist I guess. Maybe even Pollyanna-ish

I was at a local Walmart last Friday, the Walmarts around here keep the doors furthest away from the grocery end closed from entry (and exit) so all the foot traffic is at one end. to help keep people spread out they had a long line taped off down the length of the opened end and 1 worker to make sure everything proceeded properly. this one lady tried to go underneath the tape and go straight in but the Walmart worker stopped her and told her she had to back and go in the building the right way. I started to chuckle quietly to myself but I didn't get the chance. the woman trying to go underneath the tape started arguing and raising all manner of holy hell. I thought she might even physically attack the Walmart worker. I went on in as I didn't want to bunch up the line. I wondered how that played out. cockroaches get a bad reputation but humans can be every bit as terrible

I'm fine letting people in parks on their own, but it has to be like when they are normally closed. Most parks while closed means you can't park in the normal lot, have to hike in, and there may not be any facilities open. You have to take anything you bring in with you. The hike in generally keeps most people away. If a park is on public land and only requires a self drop entrance fee, then let people in if they want. If it is a staffed entrance, then that is a little different.

The tightness in my chest seems to be a bit more, but my oxygen level is still within range and my fever continues to be low grade when I do have one.

I talked to my primary doctor today and told him about the incident where I woke up feeling as though I couldn't breathe and he told me to continue to monitor my vitals and if they ever fall out of the range to immediately go to the ER or if I have another episode where I feel as though I cannot breathe like I did the other morning to go.

So far today I've been miserable but tolerable. I have tried doing a few more things today like I made myself shave and shower and I sat on the deck for an hour or so just to get out of bed and out of the house for my mental well being.

Keep distracting myself with video games and social media to a degree, anything to escape reality.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Our great state of WI is still conducting the primary election tomorrow with booths.

1 million people have asked for mail-in ballets, but it did get dicey towards the end, with politics playing a part.

The Governor decided to put in a executive order to postpone till June 9th. The other party took away his powers before the last Governor was voted out.

So, the other party took it to the WI Supreme Court and they decided held up the Constitution. Not much they could do, though.

There is a shortage of volunteers and most of the volunteers are retired and elderly.

That is as far as I will go on the political end, trying to stay within the friendly confines. lol

                            And here we go........

I get the thought behind this but I just don't see it being possible as a one size fits all thing.

This virus has me working more than I ever have right now. This is the first night I've logged off by 8 (including weekends). I'm not currently in a position to drop my work duties on a Tuesday because that's my day to go shopping and with stores being open limited hours I'd be pretty likely to miss those hours.

EDIT: Just re-read this one and I may have confused it with something I read earlier about checking ID's at the door? As mentioned above, haven't spent much time online. You may say I've been social distancing from social media.

I see you said recommendations, not requirements, which makes sense.
