  • begins learning to tie shoes
  • copies shapes while drawing

  • recognizes and recites the alphabet
  • permanent teeth may begin coming in

What can my child say?

• • can say approximately 2,000 words

  • knows the days of the week and months

  • can understand commands with multiple instructions
  • talks frequently

What does my child understand?

• • increased understanding of time
  • curious about real facts about the world
  • may compare rules of parents with that of friends

if they went to school and not just savage kids, you have one silver bullet. Yell "criss-cross applesauce" and they SHOULD stop in place, be silent and sit indian-style. i became aware of this tool when i was a camp counselor. then you can proceed with your finishing move of choice.

Saying "match in the gas tank" is also an option but not very effective. it will only cause them to scream 'boom-boom' and become silent. it will not immobilize them.

Another tactic may be to keep a recording of the Ice Cream Man jingle and use it as a special weapon. Kids cannot resist the Ice Cream Man.

cooties are a creature that little boys believe girls have (eg. "Ewww, girls have cooties") and is believed to be transmitted by touch (eg. "Ewww, Suzie touched me and now I have cooties").

I'm just trying to think of more unconventional warfare, your ice cream jingle idea's great...assuming these fiends have a leader, we might not be able to use simple physical attacks. Assuming they don't fall into patterns like video game bosses, then it'd be easy to defeat them.

I'm thinking at least 50, and probably a hell of a lot more than that. They would have a really hard time taking me off of my feet. My only concern would be getting tired and gassing out. Even if they all swarm, it would be pretty easy to create distance by shoving them, kicking them in the chest, or doing more damage by landing knees to the chops, which they would be about the perfect height for. Knocked out or not, I doubt many 5 year old kids are going to get back up after eating a hard knee to the nose/mouth. Elbows to the top and sides of their melon would also be effective.

Even if they somehow got you down, it isn't like it would be terribly hard to just toss them off you and get back to your feet. It isn't like all 50 of them can physically be on top of you at once, so basically you are dealing with maybe 4 or 5 at most, which shouldn't be too hard to deal with. Obviously, the more tired you are, the harder it would be to fight off a swarm and get up after being taken down, but it still isn't likely that they would be able to knock an adult unconscious, unless they are allowed to wield bats or something.

Keep in mind also that this one day of training is going to a group of 5 year olds. It would be hard enough for an adult to remain composed enough to remember and make use of what they were taught during an actual fight situation, let alone a bunch of tykes. Every single thing that was taught would be out the window within the first 30 seconds.

Yeah, I really don't think that they will remember much of the training, so I would just run around at random closelining the little booger's then probably doing an elbow drop to the neck to knock them unconscious.

I'm confident that I could take on 50+ easy....I mean a 5 year olds head could only take so much "fist to face" action before hitting the ground, and my stamina/endurance would definitely help me out. A few fists to the sides of their little skulls and they'd me down and out in no time.
