Nothing should have been changed in the first place.

Instead of deleting an entire forum, ban the people who violate the TOS, which is what should happen anyways.

Wow. I had gotten to the point, because I don't even play videogames that much anymore, that I mainly looked at the EE forum. I enjoyed talking about best movie or song lists, movie reviews, and many other non-controversial topics. I would venture to say that many people have been helped by the EE forum, whether it be dating, computer, or purchasing advice, etc. This is a mistake in my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions...

Agreed. Or post a sticky in there with exact rules about what is lockable. Threads were locked because they "seemed like they would go nowhere" or "do you really want to talk about stuff this personal on OS?" Let them go nowhere befoer you lock them and let the person decide what they want to talk about on OS.

A more specific definition of "lockable" threads would have helped, as well as stricter rules. If someone posts more than one questionable thread, give them a week timeout and see how much more smoothly things run then.

Just ideas, a few bad threads and probably only a small, small handful of people "abusing the privlidge of the EE forum" shouldn't be grounds to punish everybody here.

Shouldn't the input of the donaters to the site at least be worth something though?

No... if you donate to PBS do you get to pick what shows they run?

If you donate to Breast Cancer research, do you get to pick the tests they run?

You donated to a website (on your own accord) for the support of the site in order to keep it on the web. You don't get special treatment for that.

Did I ever say that you have not banned people?

Bring the EE forum back, make a post saying if you do something against the TOS, you're banned. It's as simple as that, if people don't want to follow the rules, get them out of here but to delete the entire EE forum was too much.
